<p>Indeed we are and I agree with the last couple of sentences entirely. But she most likely isn't going to take it. Peridot's intentions? to "pick up where we left off" I mean Steven straight up asked her. She's trying to reboot the awful kindergartens and erase humanity. How is that not horrible? She didn't hesitate at all in her attempts to kill the gems. Why does she not stand out as an antagonist? I like antagonists as much as I do heroes, especially when they are alien species that make humanity question its own ethics. I like villains like Jasper a lot too, but villains like peridot are the worst. Peridot thinks ill of anyone who tries to stop her hence the "clods" insult. Peridot reported to homeworld. Peridot brought the ship back to earth and was pretty trigger happy with it. Peridot tried to crush steven almost on sight. What did Jasper do? Cut up Garnet and then get beat by Garnet and then captured by Lapis. Peridot has been way more of a consistent threat considering that she STILL is a threat. You used the words ruthless and kill but don't equate that to bad morality and ill intentions? If any villain stands out (and to me none do) it isn't Lapis who was never really a villain, it isn't Jasper who we may not see again for a while, it's Peridot--the weasily, mildly funny, immoral, murderer of a gem that's still at large. Steven probably will try to give Peridot a second chance and maybe even a third one but I doubt she'll ever come around because she feels above everything to do with Earth. Sure she was raised that way but that doesn't excuse it. She's a horrible person and the most prominent villain so far. Even so, I liked the invisible gem more than I do Peridot and I love Jasper as much as I do Steven. Peridot is a bottom of the food chain type character for me and I doubt she's deep at all, but Rebecca makes deep characters out of a simple fryman like Peedee so we shall see. </p>

<p>You do have a point, peridot could be a horrible person, but even then it's nothing beyond the steven universe standard, she is still just an amoral antagonist, she doesn't have any mercy for humans or steven. But I'm willing to give her a chance, and yes her trying to kill steven and trying to wipe out all life on earth is a horrible thing to do, but I think the homeworld gems are far worse than her, and maybe Jasper isn't as bad as peridot but she still counted as an immediate threat, her intentions could have possibly been worse. But your right, peridot might be a horrible person, but she doesn't really stand out as of yet. But for me and couple others were willing to give her a chance, although I haven't seen her like a sadist or anything like that, she doesn't seem like a homicidal maniac, or a misanthrope, she just seems like a person following orders. But your right that's no excuse, maybe we are just overlooking it, but I'm betting she does have some good in her and she could possibly be redeemed for her actions, and if she's worse than Jasper, Jasper might be redeemable as well. </p>

<p>Jasper respects strength. If it was just ruby to have beaten her, she would have had no room to complain and probably bowed out. She's way more redeemable than Peridot is because she's a warrior. Peridot however is too slimy to me. I doubt she's a sadist, I do think she's incredibly selfish and simple minded even though she's technician. Why her villainous doesn't stand out to you, I don't know. She has the artillery to do more damage than Jasper (robanoid's, ships, kindergarten, giant metal hands). Because she's so simple I'm certain she's following orders but her lack of morality and sense don't make her question that authority at all. Of course she couldn't stand up to the diamonds cuz I doubt she can fight up close (Amythest got her pretty easily) so Jasper was a definitely greater immediate threat but that was only because Garnet didn't know about that gem spillting staff. Once garnet figured that out, Jasper was out matched. Jasper is probably doing this out of her own code of honor, which Is why I love her and think she can be persuaded if she's overpowered "fairly". Peridot, however, has no code and is probably just scared to step out of line and is following orders. If she is redeemable, she probably won't come around for a very very long time. I think they found her ship in this upcoming episode so we will see. </p>

<p>Maybe she does stand out, maybe she is the worst villain in the series so far, but I have my own opinions. </p>
