<p>Hello everyone I'd like to take a moment to discuss the overall chat rules for this wiki. First of all I think ask everyone if we should be allowing for the term gay to be used repeatedly in 'joking' ways as some could take offense to that. I don't think doing it once in a while without any bad intent is wrong but when you keep on either claiming to be gay or making jokes involving such I don't think that it's the best for that.
</p><p>The second issue I'd like to discuss is any <span style="font-family:Verdana;line-height:18.2000007629395px;white-space:pre-line;">sexual innuendo/jokes. I'd like to know if they should be allowed at all (as I have been seeing users make them, some even going a bit too far) and, if allowed, what the limit should be to it because the last thing I want is for chat to become a perverted place. </span>
</p><p><span style="font-family:Verdana;line-height:18.2000007629395px;white-space:pre-line;">I'm simpily bringing up these issues because I think that as time has gone on that the overall rules have become less clear and don't have as much merit as they used to when chat was smaller and the wiki was just starting out. I believe that the rules should be edited which is why I've decided to get a community decision rather then edit the rules myself. Please, if you would like to voice your opinion, be sure to reply below so that I can review it if/when I do edit the rules.</span>

<p>1. Depends how you are using the term. If you are describing something as gay (and lets be honest some things are, doesnt mean anything bad, just gay) then its okay, but if you are repeatedly useing the word to offensive or just calling someone it after, then it should be done in very small moderation if any. Saying it offensivly should not be done, but calling someone gay should be done only if okay but the person being called.
</p><p>2. Jokes are okay (and some funny) as long as they arent offensive. They should be allowed all the time but if someone is offended by one, then the person who said it should stop.

<p>Honestly, if the word "gay" isnt used in a sentence where we discuss logically about characters from the show or on a more philosophical level and is just used for jokes and insults, then those who used them in that manner should be banned for a set period of time from the chat.
</p><p>On that note, do we have rules set on how long a person is banned for different levels of rule breaking? Do we even have ban times set on the wiki or do we just ban for a time the banner himself feels like he should be banned?

<p>Gay or Lesbian shouldn't be a bad word though, we should celebrate the terms so we can be accepting to the gay community.

<p>I'm not saying it's a bad word, I'm just saying that it shouldn't be used constantly as the base of jokes or insults because people could take offense to that and, truthfully, it seems more so immature then anything else.

<p>Well, I'm not really sure because like you said this is a somewhat touchy subject... :/ But I am glad you brought it up! ^^
</p><p>The gay thing is fine with me. I don't think it's become so bad that we need to ban it. Perhaps if on three different accounts a person is told to stop then it should become an issue.
</p><p>Sexual innuendo/jokes on the other hand should probably not be allowed. I think a lot of people take it too far. There is like 2% that is actually a funny joke. So i'm all for this. Personally I have to stick with the 3 strikes you're out rule. It seems fair, and that way something doesn't go too far.
