ALL POSTSWill Peridot and Lapis have romantic feelings for each other? 
<p>So in Barn Mates, Peridot and Lapis became barn mates. Lapis hated each her until the end of the episode.Â
</p><p>Anything ship is possible in this show (excluding Jasper ships). Let's see if this ship has a chance.
</p><p>Note : I'm not saying they do now, because a couple people in the comment section below are making it sound like I do.
</p><p>Lets start with the card. The card's cover is a hint. On the cover its the two blushing, holding hands, and smiling, it seems romantic. Even though Steven drew it, the crewverse decided he would do it. Why couldn't of it just been a simple "I'm sorry" on the cover? Why would the crewverse draw that and put detail in to it?
</p><p>I'll keep on adding hints as we go on in the show with these two.
</p><p>A question I have is ; Why does Peridot like Lapis all of the sudden? We've only heard her speak about her twice and it wasn't that positive.
</p><p>I think these two relate to each other. They can't go back to Homeworld, they are trapped on Earth and learning, and they are confused. They could learn from each other.

<p>If people ship Steven as a Consenting Adult with Peridot or Lapis I think that is fine. Because Greg was a consenting adult who wanted to be with a 5000 year old gem too. Though personally think he's head over heels in love with Connie...
</p><p>And on the fact of Sapphire and Ruby, I know a couple who are inseperable, but they still go out they do things together and guess what, THEY LOVE DOING IT. So what if Sapphire and Ruby don't want to be apart, that's not unhealthy they are choosing to stay together to hang out with their friends they both enjoy doing the same things together so there's nothing unhealthy about it. If one wanted alone time and the other didn't THEN it's unhealthy.

They may not know everything right off the bat but there is no such thing as children in the gem culter. You jus said the Pedo means for an Adult to have an attraction to Children. But if there is no such thing as Children in gem society there are no pedo's. This means Lapidot is not Pedophellia. </p>

</p><p>I don't know how to translate Garnet over into real life but i'm trying to say that some people see their love as more of being obssesed with each other. Maybe think of Malachites realm but instead of that it's them in a happy house. They never leave. Garnet is the one who talks and does things with everyone else.<i> (remember fusions are whole new people and have disticntly different personalities. Minus Malachite because of how unstable she was, she didn't even have a new voice) </i>It's just....I don't know it feels really off to me, but it is a kids show so...

</p><p>Again It's not wrong to ship. It's (st3vidot and stap1s) just very uncomfortable for me (and apparently most people) to tolerate.
</p><p>Gems don't have concept of age in human standards. Yet they are technically born and live as grown/adult gems. So a relationship of gem with a gem is not pedophilia. But a relationship of a gem and a human (or half-human) KID is.

</p><p>I would like to think not. The ship doesn't completely sit right with me, even after Lapis eventually settles down and warms up, whenever that may be. While I don't think physical age is important to gems seeing as how they're made fully grown (though I predict Lapis will be around Pearl's age, while Peridot's age will be closer to Amethyst's), emotional maturity should given how humanlike they are psychologically. Peridot is childlike in her antics, and there have been an unproportionally large amount of jokes that further this association. This includes Pearl describing her fits in <i>Too Far</i> as "temper tantrums", having her being stumped by child safety locks in <i>Message Received</i>, and those times she was secured in a child-safety harness.
</p><p>Aside from that, there's also Peridot's inherent feralness that makes shipping her with someone more sophisticated or even regal like Lapis feel a bit odd. She's prone to scampering around on all-fours, to which Lapis made what looked like a disapproving face at in <i>Hit The Diamond</i>. All of this put together, it makes the notion of these two holding hands and being lovey-dovey at least a little bit off-putting to me. The only gem I could see Peridot ending up with (if Crewniverse plans to fully commit to new ships anyway) is the gem very next in line in terms of emotional maturity, Amethyst. We've seen their compatibility in action, and it just works (I'll leave it at that).
</p><p>And one other concern regarding Lapidot: it would get in the way of the dynamics of the Homeworld Trio if it reached canon status. Let me just say I'm someone who <i>strongly</i> believes in Jasperdemption. Lapis and Peridot being delegated to the barn makes me even more positive that they're (including Jasper eventually) being set-up as the B-team whereas the OG CGs (Pearl, Garnet, Amethyst) are the A-team residing in the temple. It would be unfortunate and even awkward seeing Jasper as a third-wheel if Lapis and Peridot were to be an unambiguous item. While still a potential concern, chalk this part up in headcanon territory for now.
</p><p>With all of that said, I'm sure Peridot and Lapis will become good friends eventually, at least. I foresee a lot of gold in their dynamic down the line! The quirky logical gem clashing with the highly emotional, refined gem - it's gonna be interesting.
