<p>Remember in Back To The Moon, where the crystal gems travel to the moon base with the rubies? And when Eyeball said "I was there. I saw it with my own eye. I watched the leader of the Crystal Gems -- Rose Quartz -- shatter Pink Diamond!". ?
</p><p>But what if Rose didn't shatter P.D,
What if Eyeball was lied to or saw things differently
</p><p>Because here are some things I remember about the Rubies in the episode Hit The Diamond
</p><p>1. They're stupid
2. They're gullible
3. They'll listen to anything
</p><p>These reasons lead me to believe that Rose NEVER shattered P.D. but yes, I know Eyeball was there during the war but still..... she's a Ruby, she's dumb.
</p><p>There are theories about Pink Diamond being Lion but that may not be possible
</p><p>But, What if P.D was Poofed and Bubbled. Bismuth said Rose's sword is incapable of shattering a gem, but to destroy the form. Eyeball said this about her sword "Who cares about her shield? Her huge sword is what I remember." Eyeball might've thought Rose shattered P.D.
</p><p>But still these are my thoughts about this discussion about Pink Diamond's death

</p><p>I do still think PD faked her death or something, because you're right, the sword.
</p><p>Also maybe the Rose = PD theory is still plausable because of this...?

I agree with this but I don't believe PD turned into Lion.

<p>I like to think Rose Quartz did indeed fake Pink Diamond's shattering somehow but if that were the case then what happened to her?
</p><p>The rest of the Crystal Gems obviously believe Rose really did shatter PD but of course Rose kept a LOT of secrets
</p><p>The mural of PD hinted Earth was to be her first colonization of a foreign planet, perhaps hinting she was the youngest of the Diamond matriarchs. Perhaps colonizing Earth was some kind of... test? Initiation?
</p><p>But perhaps Pink Diamond, like Rose, saw Earth as something more than just another planet to terraform and colonize, and perhaps she too came to value Life (even organic life) and didn't want to go through with it
</p><p>If so, she couldn't have made it known she was turning against the elder Diamonds; it could have escalated the war to heights the Crystal Gems wouldn't have been able to overcome, even with PD leading them
</p><p>So perhaps she and Rose faked her shattering to demoralize Homeworld and the Diamonds (which worked but resulted in an unforeseen way with the Diamonds using some kind of Corrupting weapon, not just on the Crystal Gems but their own soldiers)
</p><p>I'm still on the fence whether Lion could be Pink Diamond; it's an interesting theory but I just can't really buy it
</p><p>So... if Pink Diamond really is still alive and if it turns out she's not Lion... then where is she?
