Come to think of it, that makes more sense. Diamond is one of the hardest known natural substances, and pretty much the only thing that could put even a scratch on it is another diamond. On a separate note, if Lars gets back to Earth and Ronaldo learns about his condition, he is going to be sooooo jelly! And does this mean Lars is immortal too?

Oh I think I know why Phire depends on a future vision she likely already knows is faulty. Remember Sapphire? In Keystone Motel it was stated that she always looked to the future. Phire's the same way, she likely knows that it's pointless but her instinct tells her to predict the future.

Yeah, and he would probably get jealous because Lars has Gem powers and he doesn't and he WAS a self-proclaimed Crystal Gem!

I thought this as well a couple of weeks back. Forgive me if I quote from my other post about that: The story of Pink Diamond is complicated by why Rose or the other Crystal Gems assumed the narrative of the events. Putting that asside, the motived for another Diamond (be it white or yellow) being involved is obvious. Fear of loss ing power or prestege in the face of Rose's Rebellion in home world is paramount. The rebelion was gaining and homeworld loosing. In addition, if Pink Diamond was going soft, so would Blue Diamond. What better way to end the rebellion and it's corrosive effect on gem society then to set up Rose as the straw man, create a martyr in PInk Diamond and eliminate a potential new power center around Pink Diamond and those who agreed with her. It would galvanize Homeworld, discredit Rose, her philosophies, and her rebellion beyond redemption, and allow for a reaction out of proportion to everything that had happened up to that point: corruption and then the cluster. The Corruption happened quickly, and before even loyal homeworld gems could fully evacuate (centepeedle). Pearl speaks of a climatic earth battle, but it seams the corruption might have cut short that battle? Was it solely the work of Yellow and or White Diamond? We see three colors in Lapisis retelling: Yellow, white, and Blue. Perhaps done to silence any remaining witnesses as much as an example of what happens to those who rebel and or fail to stop a rebellion, or just to simplify the situation? As Hagrid says in Harry Potter Book 5, Order of the Phoenix, speaking of his meeting with the giants and their proclivity to kill when confused: “...overload 'em with information an' they'll kill yeh jus' to simplify things." The cluster is a later project, done when no other gems are thought to be left on earth. And if homewold recourses are dwindling, and there are no crystal gems left on earth, why waste its valuable potential solely for weapon development? Is Yellow diamond's choice to destroy the earth influenced by her desire to erase the memory of Pink Diamond (the whole "debacle") and to finalize Blue Diamond's allegiance to her ? To make sure the remaining evidence is removed and there is no repeat of the earth's "corrupting" influence on Homeworld and her remaining fellow Diamond[s]? Has colonization been put on hold in Era 2 out of fear of other such potential influences from other worlds? It is obvious that Homewold is hollowed out by gem production. What's become of all those other gems? How many more "off color" and sympathetic gems like Topaz are on homeworld. The Diamonds rule by fear (they can poof a lesser gem instantly) and a complacent priveleded class (like Aquamarine) and loyal henchman like the Ruby squad, Jasper, and ofr a while, Peridot (the former two who appear to be motivated by their anger at Pink Diamonds destruction as well as the unfailing Diamond Authority and (in Peridots case) wisdom and logic). How quickly could this Potempkin Village collaspe if it is discovered that a fellow Diamond was behind the destrcution of Pink Diamond? Has the currupting influcne of Earth and Rose Quartz already taken hold on homeworld, and it is just awaiting a catalyst in the forms of Steven and Pink Lars?

I still don't think Yellow did it, her love for Pink seemed to genuine. As for why she poofed the Zircons, one was insolent enough to question a diamond, the other was insolent enough to...suck up to her, she's a passionate woman. In her eyes Rose Quartz did it, that's enough for her, shatter the blighter and be done with it! Blue on the other hand, is more a professional, she wants to know the details of an event that has only been RUMORED about for 6000 years, heck the only Gem to see the assasination so far is a stinking Ruby with ONE eye. Onto other matters though...HOW long will it be until they realize Steven is no longer on Home world?
