<p>I loved Wanted, especially The Trial. It was full of tension and revelations and we learned more about Homeworld. But something annoyed me about the episode.
</p><p>I didn't really like the Diamond reveal.
</p><p>It was a good twist but something felt odd about it. I hear a lot of people saying that they hope Pearl is involved in the shattering of Pink Diamond and I do too, but I highly doubt it.
</p><p>When they announced that Rose shattered Pink, it was an amazing reveal. Up until that point, the struggle against Homeworld didn't really feel grounded in Steven's life. Yes, he was raised by The Crystal Gems and he knows Homeworld is bad so he has to fight against them, but other than that, the battle had no intense emotional relevance to him in the way that The Rose Shattered Pink Diamond Reveal did. This reveal allowed some really interesting development for Steven. Not only did he inherit her war, but he inherited her crime as well. But when it was revealed that it was a Diamond, I was actually disappointed.
</p><p>It felt like a step back. Homeworld, somehow, felt like it lost its emotional connection to Steven's life. Remember, the Gem War was Rose's war, not Steven's. Now that his mother was not involved in Pink's death, it just feels like a Diamond problem rather than a Steven problem. If Pearl was somehow involved in Pink's death, it make the war personal again for Steven would allow for some incredible development for both Pearl and him. The show has always been about Steven fermenting his own path rather than following Rose's, especially in the light of the first reveal; now it seems that focus has been lost with this reveal.
</p><p>Perhaps it's too early to know the ramifications of this reveal on Steven's life, but I just wanted to get it out there. It was still an awesome episode and I can't wait to see where the show takes this revelation.

<p>I mean, Rose still started the war whether or not she shattered Pink Diamond. Zircon said that Rose had already started the Rebellion long before Pink was shattered. The war is still personal to Steven as the war was the turning point for the Crystal Gems to revolt against Homeworld and be their own Gems.

<p>I feel you are jumping the gun here. It has not been established that one of the diamonds did it and Rose was not involved. All of the things that implicated Rose before these episodes aired still exist.
</p><p>For my own part, I still see no reason to doubt Rose had a part in shattering PD, but based on what we heard during the trial it would seem that the circumstances of her involvement may not be as straightforward as has been portrayed prior to these latest episodes. Did she have inside help? Did she have a deal with a diamond or some other powerful homeworld gem to do the deed in exhange for leaving earth alone and was double-crossed? Why did she accept the blame for what happened if she was not involved, and if she truly did not do it then who is she trying to protect?
</p><p>To me the story became so much more interesting than when it was just "Rose did it to save the earth and Pearl can be free and Garnet can be herself".

<p>It's pretty silly that the CGs basically fight a war without killing Gems. It's morally dishonest, like George Lukas trying to convince people that Greedo shoot first. I know it's a kid's show, but I don't think it shouldbe controversial to say:"If people want to keep you in slavery and annihilate the entire human race it is justified to kill them."

It does put an interesting spin on it. Never expected it to possibly be a diamond myself. Didn't Eyeball say she saw the shattering herself? Though in another topic someone did bring up that she might not see as well. Can understand that though. If there were no gems around her wonder why Eyeball just stood there. Would've liked if they kept it as is though.

I think we can rule out that Eyeball was compliced in this crime, based on the things she said when both her and Steven were in space.
