<p>It's a The Simpsons reference. There was a character named Maude Flanders. She was a recurring character that was killed off in season 11, but they did it in one of the stupidest and disrespectful ways you could kill off a beloved character. </p>

</p><p>Well, Maude had to die. The voice actress could not longer keep voicing her. So instead of just letting the character fade away, they decided to send her off in style. I don't think there was any bad intentions in the way Maude got killed off - quite the opposite. </p>
