<p>Consedering the pros and the cons for fusing, it seems to me that the former outweigh the latter. So, what could Homeworld have against doing so? I think that excuses like "you already have a form, keep it!" would be made up by the Diamonds (or maybe only White) in order to cover other practical reasons. Have you got any ideas?

<p>Like what happened in "Stuck Together", it's implied that fusions are more emotional and free-thinking than their components, even fusions of the same type of Gem. This would lead to more rebels, and free-thinking individuals don't really fit into the hive-mind setup of Homeworld.

<p>I read on Tumblr that it's possible that the Diamonds don't want Gems more powerful than them, which is a reason why they ban fusion.
