<p>Can I just say that the sneak peek seemed very "fan-made"? No, not the animation but those plots and scenes. Y'know the fusion between Eyeball and Aqua seems like it came out of nowhere. Also, I don't think they would be very stable. I think Navy and Aqua is much better for their "cute" looks and attitude towards things. Pink Pearl, Jasper and Pink Steven. Hmm. Yes, they would've needed to show theme again but that shot of Pink Pearl admiring Pink, Jasper's line "You are not my diamond!" and th fact Pink Steven has to appear. Fan plots aside, I think these should've been before the diamonds were quote on quote "redeemed" because they are now just not gonna be in the show too much otherwise they could just swoop in and deal with it (which I'm pretty sure isn't going to happen until some sort of plot twist) Back to the plots, I'm pretty sure they were only added in to please the fans, like Pearl protecting Pink Pearl, I know that they need to do that but they're doing it anyway they could do more originally. Well, I've been really negative right now but I'm actually really hyped! </p>

<p>Between the Diamonds now being on Steven's side and Steven's healing powers, on paper there is no threat in the new series.  Because drama is about conflict and threat, those things are going to have to be unpicked.  Steven is going to have to lose his powers (again).  The happy endings of CYM and SU:TM are going to need to be undone to keep up the conflict and keep telling a story. </p><p>One of the things that makes Scrubs hard to rewatch is the number of times they <i>thought</i> they were getting cancelled: they wrapped everything up; then got another series and so had to unpick everything to carry on. </p><p>In SU case: for the sake of finishing up a bunch of other threads (that they left hanging because they thought the show was over) they now have to undo a load of stuff that they <i>did,</i> in fact, wrap up (albeit in a rushed sort of way). </p><p>It's not helped by the 2 year time skip IMO.  One of the weird things about Ghostbusters II (from way back in 1989) is that the Ghostbusters are now broke, maligned and out-of-work. Everyone thinks they're frauds.  Why?  At the end of the first film, they saved the world and ghosts are categorically, without shadow-of-doubt, real!  The answer: it happened off-screen. </p><p>'It happened off-screen' is a trick that pops up in a bunch of places because, to casual viewers, it works. Most viewers accept something frankly dumb if it happened out of sight, usually in a time skip. </p><p>I expect the time skip will be used to handwave away a lot of stuff like that, eg the Aquamarine/Eyeball union, why the Diamonds are now annoying relatives rather than tyrants etc. </p>

I don't see Spinel and "Drift Away" as special things.

<p>I don't want to see heroes losing their powers. It's really dissatisfying for me to watch. The first time I saw when heroes losing their powers was Power Rangers Ninja Storm <i>TWICE!</i> Heck I don't like it when Death took out the Alucard Weapons from the videogame called Castlevania Symphony of the Night(unless you cheat your way to keep them). </p><p>Can't they're be a conflict without losing or in exact term crippled, nerfed, drained their powers AFTER ALL THE HARD WORK, TRAINING, AND PERSERVERANCE(not to mention the timeskip, aging up to teen, giving them upgraded designs) the heroes been through?! </p><p>I can accept happily ever afters taken away, or falling from grace situations like the Ghostbusters did, and/or losing control of vast powers in an apocalyptic way then people hate you now, but not nerfing, draining, a hero's powers. </p><p>Why can't have a similar situation like(a ticking time bomb on a watch/powers or abandoning the hero work by removing a watch/weapon then put it back later on/regain them) Kinda like when Ben Tennyson did or what Hector from Castlevania Curse of Darkness did respectively. </p><p>Or holding back your vast powers <i>on your own free will </i>without the nerfing. Coz if you don't hold back there will be conscequences like your loved ones will suffer, doomsday weapon activates, timer accelerates via a threat? </p><p>Or said weapon/power will not work unless a special key, ritual, upgrade is needed like Jonathan Morris carrying the Belmont Vampire Killer from Castlevania Portrait of Ruin. </p>

<p>It may seem fan-y because we've only seen bits and pieces of it, clipped together specifically to get fans excited. This series at least started early development a while back, and the crew have mostly done their own thing without taking fan speculation or reception into account, certain exceptions aside. The stuff with Jasper and Pink Pearl is something we've known about for ages anyway (i.e. Rebecca frequently talking about her love for Jasper and how she's not finished with her character yet, Pink Pearl actually being confirmed to return with her stuff getting dealt with, ect.). Aquaball does come out of nowhere, but we don't know the full story. Who knows, she could get a very fleshed out explanation for why she came to be. </p>

<p>I wonder if my suggestion of Pink Steven in the movie to overwhelm Spinel was a deleted concept/idea (proved too brutal in the eyes of many) and that concept was used in SUF when PS possessed Steven will take on Jasper... </p>

<p>I dunno, it’s possible. Props to you for guessing at that concept though. That’s not the impression Pink Steven left on me when I first saw him, nor is it really the route I would’ve wanted them to go down with Pink Steven, but nevertheless, that is how it is. He’s a T.K.O. of sorts, and there’s more to this entity than just gem powers. </p>
