I agree with DetectiveAquamarine. From what we have seen of his pure diamond form from Change Your Mind it doesn't seem to have strong emotions or the mental capability to talk like that. It is just his powers in physical form. Also, from what we have seen of his resentment, he seems to put the 'blame' of his trauma on others, especially on White rather than his gem half. Like how in Mr. Universe he said "My problem is'nt that I'm a diamond, its that I'm a Demayo." He clearly does not blame his diamond for his trauma.

I think White just head butted the air. She didn't seem to be too close to any pillar. Steven head butted the pillar and felt his own pain from doing that.

Our Steven would never try to shatter a Gem. (Jasper being an accident)

My interpretation was that it was Pink Steven who was doing it and our Steven was the one speaking through WD as Pink Steven tried to shatter her.

It's implied that Pink Steven isn't as kind or caring as human Steven, like in "Change Your Mind" when he callously knocks everyone down to which human Steven begged him to stop because he was "hurting them". You could say Pink Steven is basically Steven dark side.

If you look their is a broken pillar next to White after she brakes free from Steven's controle, so she probably headbutted that pillar.

I think she broke that pillar earlier, because Steven made her slam her fist backwards into it. When White comes to, there isn't really anything around her.

No kidding. I hope Rebecca elaborates on this scene and what it's intended to be, because what we have now is a vague "murder/suicide/half-suicide/power play towards White/Steven/Steven's Diamond Half" that's extremely confusing and nobody can agree on...

And the thing is, they're all perfectly valid

Personally, my interpratation is that Steven was just not thinking straight since the scenes with the three diamonds show him how changing his appearance (Yellow), mood altering substances (Blue) nor self-harm/taking it out on others (White) will help him deal with his problem. It shows how it won't be easy for him to break cycle of abuse that started with White, went to Pink & got passed to him.

Spinel ironically throws his own advice back at him "to change", showing once again how this series has portrayed him as so good at helping others but the trauma he's faced makes all his resentments come back to haunt him just when the diamonds lost theirs makes him the one who needed help all along in a way.

At the end of the day, I think Steven didn't mean to do what he did & was just traumatised but he does need to master his powers before he becomes no better than most of the characters who tormented him were.
