<p>OK, so on another post someone said that Pink/Rose has a shield and asked what the other diamond's weapons could be. I replied and I thought, "hey, I think that's a pretty good theory," so I'm reposting my reply here as a standalone discussion. Here is my reply:
</p><p>I think since the Diamonds are a "special" type of gem, they more have "special abilities" than "powers." [I meant weapons not powers] Blue can cast an aura to make people sad, yellow looks like she has extreme strength and stubbornness. We haven't seen much of White Diamond yet, but we can assume it's something mind-related (maybe mind-control?), because her gem is on her head.
</p><p>I have a theory that Pink's shield was really attained/discovered by her when she was Rose Quartz. It's "Rose's" weapon, not "Pink's." It represented her new beginning as a Crystal Gem, caring for humans and gems alike; "shielding" them from danger, instead of a Diamond.
</p><p>The sword was probably attained by her in a similar fashion (for defense against things trying to hurt people she was saving), as neither Blue nor Yellow Diamond knew about the sword, EVEN WHEN SHE WAS A DIAMOND. They both thought it was "Rose's" sword. After she (Pink) discovered "Rose's" sword on Earth in secret, she used it to fake the shattering and then later discovered the shield.
