While it's an interesting comparison, it's not incredibly accurate. For one, the Native Americans existed in many different forms throughout pre-colonial America. Some surrendered quickly in face of death, some attempted to negotiate with the visitors, and some fought to the bitter end to defend their territory. The Crystal Gems are scared, but they will almost definitely fight until they are physically unable to. Furthermore, the Crystal Gems already know the intentions of the homeworld gems, while the Native Americans had little idea of what the invaders goals were. They assumed, correctly in many cases, that the invaders desired the land and wealth of the New World, and that this would mean death for many of them. This was business as usual for many native tribes, as tribal conflict and war was common. The final difference I can see between the two situations is that while the invaders of the New World ended up killing many, their goals were for "God, glory, and gold." The homeworld gems invasion plans, while generating the same effect, are caused by their desire for population. </div>You’re right that it’s not an accurate comparison, but the episode still makes me think of the "Native Americans & their sympathizers VS. White People" scenario out of all the real life human scenarios on my mind that happened in the past. But maybe it’s also because I’m in a specific history class and I can’t help but make comparisons with it. So, do you know what real life human scenario does this situation make you think is more of an accurate comparison and if so, what? I really do love shows that hint at an injustice that we, as a people, have done (though, this isn’t always the case when I feel the show isn’t portraying the injustice as ‘wrong’ or “wrong enough” or even worse, "fights wrong with wrong”). To add to this, anything in real life will always be a lot more complicated and complex than what a 10-minute per episode television show could ever convey (heck, a 30-minute per episode television show can’t accomplish this). It’s the reason why a lot of stories from the past and present hardly deviated/deviate from a “good vs. evil,” “black and white,” outlook on its characters and subject matter. Not to diss this kind of story telling, at all, but life itself is really gray. </div>I think the Alamo would be an accurate comparison. One group, giant and powerful, against a smaller one with hardly anything but hope. Oooohhhhhh, that noise that the Wailing Stone was making gave me a funny (only funny because it was in the past) but terrible memory when I accidently set off a SUPER LOUD SECURITY ALARM. It was like a scenario from a T.V. show, too, because at first, our stupid “home security” kept making this annoying beep every minute or so and I just wanted it off but instead I, inadvertently, made it a hundred times worse! And I’m not exaggerating; the noise level I experienced could be almost as loud as how the Wailing Stone was implied to be. Good for Steven for not having Greg’s original song be about Lapis being “super mean” since Lapis Lazuli may be coming back to Earth if she’s completely disillusioned with homeworld (I would so love Lapis Lazuli being more of a main character, if not a member of the Crystal Gems. I liked her character since she turned out to be not just a mirror.). Poor Lapis Lazuli, she’s like Captain America right now with the extreme “culture shock” that comes from being apart from homeworld for so long. Until I see more of the homeworld and its gems (Peridot didn’t seem like a “robot/computer,” if you know what I mean), I can’t comment if the gem species have lost their- uh, “gemity,” their essence of being sentient or something. But right now, I’m imagining a stereotypical future world with all the advance tech that comes with it.

Before the episode ended, she just looked so dazed and exhausted, though (and remember, gems don’t need to sleep). I love Pearl even if she does questionable and wrong things (all of these characters are so great for being “gray”). I want to believe Pearl’s ‘healed,’ but I think she’s not ‘healed’ enough and she won’t get the time to do so before she’s needed as “Earth’s Guardian” again. The gems do get captured (that shouldn’t count as a spoiler) and I can’t help but think it’s because the Crystal Gems today are nowhere near as strong internally as well as externally, as they were when Rose Quartz was leading them.

So is it confirmed that Rose came from home world now? And this is like the second time Pearl almost unintentionally caused Steven’s death. Pearl must be totally cracked on the inside for suddenly seeming indifferent to Steven’s life at risk. So far, only Garnet seems to not be emotionally unstable due to loss of Rose Quartz. And what Pearl and Amethyst seem to have in common are insecurity issues and a semi-obsession with Rose Quartz. Just goes to show that sometimes you really can love someone too much. If Garnet is a fusion gem, maybe the reason why Garnet hasn’t cracked yet is because fusion gems' components' have their “super special someone” with them at all times and this makes them more emotionally stable (you could even say they haven’t lost the most important thing in their lives). Pearl is definitely emotionally scarred as you can see her at the end of the episode and it doesn’t look like Pearl will be able to recover (or significantly recover) by the time the invasion starts, but in a happier future vision, Steven’s going to be a great leader someday.

Sapphire’s got that sort of ‘regal’ look to her, doesn’t she (Interestingly, she doesn't appear to have a 'star' or a 'diamond' signifying her allegiance.)? In a way I shouldn’t be surprised if she’s Garnet’s “other half.” From this clip and considering the “Garnet’s a Fusion” hypothesis, I’m assuming in the episodes, “Coach Steven” and “Alone Together,” the reason why Garnet is so adept at synchronizing with the dance styles of Pearl and amethyst is because one of her halves are similar to the personality and characteristics of either Pearl or Amethyst. Now that weird image of Garnet “unfusing” along with Amethyst and Pearl from Alexandrite in “Fusion Cuisine” looks less like an animation error or coincidence and more of the creator team’s “hint” of a future gem just like with the Centipeetle Mother in “Monster Buddies.” Also considering the screen shot of that weird ‘reveal’ of Garnet’s individual gem makeup (I’m looking at the one slightly edited by TimmyBrock of their interpretation of where Sapphire is.), it looks like we can see Sapphire to the right and to the left we can see- well, I guess we can say Ruby’s the one who wears the pants in this relationship (I’m not implying that Ruby’s the dominant persona here, though in gem fusions, with the exception of Alexandrite, usually one gem’s persona is.). XD

I just watched the episode, but as I figured, most of the plot-heavy stuff was in that clip I watched earlier. I wonder what would happen if there was another gem from the kindergarten like Amethyst, as in, not a corrupted gem (even possibly an ‘evil’/sort of bad one), and Amethyst met them, got really close to them, and of course, got into a little trouble to major trouble with them. I know I at least hope Amethyst finds someone to make her feel less alone. Don't think I'm excusing Amethyst for what she did, but I can't help but feel bad for her because she really is lonely and can't seem to find someone that can connect with her.

I saw the clip when Amethyst shape shifts into Rose. A gem shape shifts into Rose. I had to see it. Pretty good façade, Amethyst, but your “Rose” has a little more to be desired, sensitivity, maturity, and dignity for one thing. Forget what Rose would do, what would she, your friend, think and feel? Moving on… WHAT’S GOING ON HERE?! The two quotes I can’t help but keep going back to are: “Well, what about me, huh? I had someone who was always there for me until she started hanging out with you!” The first quote makes it seem like Amethyst was really close to Rose and why wouldn’t she be since Rose was most likely the one to really accept Amethyst into their group and as a friend? But then this quote confuses the heck out of me, as it kind of muddles this hypothesis: “I bet you’d stay for her.” I heard people suggesting before this episode was seen that Amethyst and Greg must have been a “thing” before Rose and Greg. But that just wouldn’t make much sense to me because again going with my hypothesis, “Rose was most likely the one to really accept Amethyst into their group and as a friend.” Not to mention, Rose and Amethyst have history. I AM SO CONFUSED! I can’t wait ‘till I see the episode for myself, but from what I’ve seen so far (and this is probably the most intense scene and plot-heavy part in the episode), I don’t hate Amethyst too much for what she did, I still like her character and I actually feel bad for her, because one, Amethyst was really just having one of her dumb ideas again (In fact, “shaping shifting into a dead- sort of dead, loved one” for a bitter argument against a friend about a friend is probably her dumbest idea.) and second, I actually think Amethyst feels really alone. In "Steven's Lion," Garnet made a joke with Pearl laughing at it that although I believe unintentionally, it brought up emotions of Amethyst feeling like an ‘outsider’ with those feelings “splodin’” in “On the Run.” Amethyst may have gotten over being grown in a Kindergarten, but her loneliness probably hasn’t been completely resolved, yet. It's a good thing she's at least trying to make up with Greg who had the right to be upset. I'm sure he didn't even mean to cause that much emotional turmoil to Amethyst in the first place. I was actually getting a “Full Metal Alchemist” nostalgia moment that made me think of a similar scene involving “Envy” (They shape shifted into characters' dead loved ones.). Even the character, “Envy,” if I remember correctly, had some emotional issues of their own (Funny, I think that character might also be ‘genderless.’). One last thought, does anyone find it hilarious and disturbing in a way that in one episode we could love a character (“Future Vision” & “On the Run”), then in another episode (that even brings us back to certain past episodes), we question that love and become possibly hateful towards that same character (“Steven’s Lion,” “On the Run,” & “Maximum Capacity”)? It’s like a constant “back and forth,” it’s emotionally exhausting!

I get that Steven was “seeing the possible futures” but what I didn’t understand why Steven had that weird ‘awareness’ of “seeing a possible future” while in a “possible future.” To me, that would seem to unnecessarily influence the other possible futures and it did, which in turn “contaminated the results” and this “future vision” was not so much “future vision” at all, but more like Steven being stuck in a virtual reality for a while that involved possible futures that he was semi-aware in. Oh, the confusion with time and virtual reality vs. reality. Either this is because when Garnet temporarily passed on “future vision” to Steven, Steven was probably not properly utilizing the “future vision” due to his inexperience using it or this self awareness (or in Steven’s case, semi-self awareness, since while being stuck in this virtual reality, he never caught on that he was in it until after he was back in reality) of being in these “possible futures” is necessary to ensure the user doesn’t stay stuck in this “future vision” state (leaving them in a comatose state in reality or insanity if they ever get back to reality after seeing so many possible futures) so they can "turn off" their "future vision." Here’s another scary thought, did Steven come out of seeing possible futures because he turned them off or because his “future vision” powers wore off?

He's magic, kind-of like a nice Mr. Mxyzptlk from Superman who helps kids out by having them go on crazy adventures giving them a time they'll never forget. </div> Okay, thanks. Again, I still don't know if this will be good or bad.

Clarify me please, is Uncle Grandpa going to be the "long-lost relative," Steven's relative? Maybe Steven gets his 'healing spit' back at the end of this? I don't really watch Uncle Grandpa, is he supposed to be some kind of "magical" being himself (Is this crossover going to say or imply Uncle Grandpa's a gem or somthing magic-related?). I don't know if this will be good or bad....

I almost want to like Lars as a character so much that I wouldn’t mind a couple of episodes that had Lars and Ronaldo reconciling their lost friendship as they really do have much in common as far as the, sort of, “lack of friends,” and pretty much, “social outcasts,” are concerned. Excluding Steven as he’s pretty much everyone’s friend, it’s a gem miracle Sadie is Lars’ friend at all. I think Ronaldo could potentially help make Lars into a better person since Sadie’s not having much progress with that on her own. Bringing back Steven, at this rate, I honestly believe Steven will ‘heal' a “corrupted gem” before he heals Lars' stagnant state of mind. This episode made it look like Sadie and Ronaldo could be friends and Ronaldo deserves a friend like Sadie and vice versa. That would actually be pretty funny if there was an episode that had Sadie and Ronaldo hanging out a lot and Lars would get jealous, do something stupidly offensive, and Sadie actually gives him a reality check (for once) in their friendship that leaves Lars sort of ‘friendless’ for a while and this becomes a sort of “role reversal” between Lars and Ronaldo in “Friended to Friendless” and "Friendless to Friended" (again, excluding Steven), respectively. And hopefully by the end of this ‘life lesson’ Lars actually becomes a decent character that can still be a little bit of a jerk at times.

They could've easily black-outed the face. And take a look at Ronaldo's side here. The first time his theory was right (For all he knew) and he had proof of it, was ripped up in his face, ruined by his best friend without a second word. Then Lars insulted him and basically said he had a thousand annoying quirks before leaving his side forever, leaving him friendless for years. </div> Judgekoo: “There are many better ways that could have played out but let us not forget they were really young at that time.” I definitely agree that Lars did some uncalled for things and the face censoring was definitely an option, but sadly Lars panicked (he does that a lot though and he definitely needs to learn to be less easily panic-stricken as well better explain his feelings) and Ronaldo and him quickly escalated into a ‘fight.’ I still side mostly with Lars on this issue and I actually like Ronaldo as a character more. Especially since Ronaldo, at least, shows more potential in learning from his mistakes than Lars does. I really want to like Lars or at least not see his character as completely pointless, but his character’s so stagnant. Sadie, what do you see in him? Steven Universe Show what do want us to see in him?!

I thought the episode was pretty entertaining and part of the reason for that was because we learned a little bit more about gemkind. Now for what I thought when it came to the episode besides gem stuff: Am I the only who thinks this? Even with Lars being LARS, I don’t blame Lars when he tore up the picture that caught him in an embarrassing pose, regardless if Ronaldo didn’t mean to embarrass him and regardless if there was an actual ghost. I know I would’ve done the same if I could and especially, if the person who took it was going to show it on TELEVISION/ONLINE! Yeah, we shouldn’t always care about what other people think, but sometimes we can’t help it, being social creatures and all. And it’s also not wrong to want a flattering picture of yourself, either. If I have any ‘negatives’ about this episode I think it would be that Ronaldo and Lars never came to an understanding or close to an understanding how the other felt and why it was important that as ‘friends,’ at least, they should respect each other’s feelings and avoid hurting them. Now my first gem guess of the episode of why the “gem house” hated Lars and not the gems: I guess “Gem Buildings” hold grudges against people who carve words into them. Gem God help those who graffiti the place, even though Steven now took care of that by taking out the gem in the house.

I wonder, I wonder. But remember how Pearl made a big deal about Steven’s “organicness” and how it would make Steven (supposedly, for now, anyway) incapable of fusing with the “full gems?” Could gems be “organic” after all, if not at least organic compatible (so then Steven can be capable of fusing with them), and/or still require organic material to help them reproduce? I can’t wait for the series to eventually reveal this in the future.

We can take into account the shards from "Frybo" that took over clothes. The shards in "Secret Team" that scattered around everywhere on their own. Well, at least this explains why the gem shards from "Frybo" behaved differently than the ones from "Secret Team": It was a "possessing" gem that got split up to animate an army of living armor. </div> So instead of enslaved gems (though, I don't deny there aren't any enslaved gems like why Lapis Lazuli was possibly trapped in the mirror) that are cognitive and sentient such as GAP, Lapis Lazuli, and Peridot for instance, there are gems created with limited mental and emotional capability so that these “kind” of gems are the gem equivalents of animals and machines and therefore it really wouldn’t be so immoral to use them as livestock and tools, respectively?

That's what I mean except that I was also trying to say that the reddish liquid stuff could also be some inorganic liquid substance made up by the creators (like kryptonite).

That’s possible and a good point since there is that very clear line of “life and death” between the Kindergarten and wherever was outside the kindergarten (I don’t know which town or village Steven and Amethyst traveled to that was close to the kindergarten.). I also think it could be when the topsoil is taken away and without topsoil, plant life can’t exist (think of those rainforests that are being destroyed and not just because the trees are being chopped). I don’t know what it could be, but I am very suspicious of that weird reddish liquid that came out of one of those machines. What is it? Is it organic or not? The only inorganic liquid substance I could think of that exists at room temperature is mercury. Not saying that the liquid is mercury, but it is still possible that the liquid is still inorganic similar to mercury (and like mercury, best to be not touching it). One last curious thing, that kindergarten could be centuries old and older, there’s clearly plant life around that place and yet nature can’t seem to overrun it like it would for any other ancient 'civilian area' lost to time.
