YESS FINALLY. My computer picked the perfect night to crash so I couldn't watch the Episode yesterday. Finally watched them and it was great. So glad Garnet survived in the end. Just glad the episode wasn't as traumatizing as I expected, I was expecting something a bit more violent, but the way the episode was handled was beautiful and I was not disappointed. Seeing Garnet get destroyed was a little hard to watch and that headbutt at the end of the return though. I love the fact Garnet came back and sang that epic song fighting against Jasper. I respect Lapis a lot now, she is not dead, but she is fused with Jasper and she sacrificed herself to trap Jasper in the Malachite fusion.

I wonder why Ruby and Sapphire are so desperate to be fused with each other unless...... they really love each other, no no no I will not succumb to the shippers, Ruby and Sapphire are sisters and they do not want to be apart. They have an unseparable bond and that is why they want to stay fused together. Now that makes sense and Rebecca did say we will find out the secret of Garnet's Gems in season 2, I sense more character development, they may have a really sad backstory which explains why they don't want to be apart. Love this show.

Didn't it seem a little odd though that in the song Garnet was talking about her relationship being stable and that she thought Jasper was just mad because she was single? I don't doubt there will be some more character development but this whole show tries to break through the traditional/ nuclear relationships that exist in our society. I've seen them try to allude to same-sex couples raising a child (the Gems raising Steven), polygamist families (Greg and the Gems disiplining Steven during Fusion Cuisine), biracial couples (Connie and Steven), love between two sentient species (Greg and Rose Quartz), and trying to show that love can exist in all forms (Examples: Garnet's and Steveonnie's fusions look more unified than the other fusions because of their love for one another). I wouldn't be surprised if this was Rebecca trying to be a pioneer for same sex relationships in this age where there's so much controversy among the US about gay couples marrying. Just my thoughts though.
