They don't really reproduce, so I don't see why they would make a gender binary. She/her are simply pronouns that best fit, since they are convinient. They can be taken as plural or singular, so it may be more confusing than if they just used she/her. Of course this also kinda goes into how the gems made language/use language which is very confusing to me.

Gem Language

So there is a written language for gems, but they also speak English (or whatever language the show is dubbed to be). I wonder, since they are made to conquer planets, if they have some power that lets them communicate with any creature? I doubt its some strange coincidence they basically have the same language, just not all the human centered terms.

Theres probably some key information we are missing. Like maybe it was because she wasnt fighting, or just seemed to be coming from the crystal gem's army? Maybe a lapis lazuli was known to have rebelled, and there was a mixup?

It seems to me that they are nonbinary, not using a specific gender binary, but in their culture the only pronouns they seem to use are she/her. In real life, nonbinary people use she/her or he/him pronouns all the time, but that doesn't mean they are a girl/boy? if that makes sense to you guys.

<figcaption> Heres the fusion for reference. </figcaption></figure>The hair suggests it had Rose in it, since she was the only one to have long hair at that time. The body suggests Garnet, and I doubt it'd be Rainbow. There'd probably be more distinctive features to show it. It's possible this was just Steven coming up with some design or Jamie going off of what Steven describes is a fusion. But its also likely Pearl gave a lengthy description. EIther way I would hate to think it wasn't a nod towards who the fusion might have been made up of.
