<p>I can understand the concern since Stockholm syndrome is no fun, my main problem was that most people, especially on tumblr think that when people who used to hate each other and later became friends or more, automatically means they had a case of stockholm which isn't always like that.
</p><p>People in general are reaching too much with Jasper and Lapis. But the crewniverse probably has many plans for them in the near future, and I trust their writing to pull it off. I personally don't think Jasper and Lapis will hate each other for forever. </p>

<p>What's with you guys and "stockhold syndromes"? It doesn't have to be that way, if the writers can write some Lapis and Jasper bonding, they don't have to write it as if both have that syndrome. </p><p>
</p><p>It's not the first time that enemies become friends later on, you guys act as if it's something horrible or rare. It is not rare. It's been happened so many times in fiction/any form of media. </p><p>
</p><p>If the writing is good and takes time, it can make sense. It's all in the writing and I have faith in crewniverse, they've been proven to write good, complicated characters with flaws. </p>

Redemption does not always mean "changing personality" but mostly like changing sides, ideas. Jasper can still be herself. Though Peridot was always, well, Peridot (i think). Just that she's weaker without her limb additions. She looks less scary and more cute due to her size which most likely causes people to think she changed... and i'm here like... how do they know since we never got to know her before she gets taken from the CGs? We only got to see the "villainous", all serious Peridot, not the Peridot we see when she's not on missions for example. The only thing that changed is her will to kill the CGs since she gets to know them. </p><p>
</p><p>Jasper can still be pretty mean and on the same time siding with Steven. ;) An antihero Jasper sounds like a great idea since I tend to prefer antiheroes myself. They are usually more interesting and complicated than the "perfect heroes". It would actually fit with what Matt said about Jasper being a complicated character. </p>

<p>This, all of this. Especially since it would be nice to see the HW gems struggling and learning to love different things and the Earth, how all is not so bad. Peridot learns how to live without her technology, Jasper learning about fusion and being able to overcome her distrust of them but that would take a while of course. They're the first 'villains' that got introduced to us like I said so i don't see the problem with them being redeemed. In fact, a lot of people expect it anyway (and want it). </p><p>
</p><p>There are other HW gems who could be more hard headed than thee HW trio and I wouldn't even doubt if YD didn't care about them and were expendable for her. She doesn't seem to care about Peridot or Jasper or even Lapis. They're missing for months right now, almost a year. Maybe she'll appear at the end of season 2, who knows.

</p><p>Also to point something: even if Jasper gets bubbled, that doesn't mean she can't get development later in season 3. We saw what happened with Peridot after she got bubbled and i'm sure one of them (most likely Peridot) will try to bring Jasper back. I personally don't think Jasper will get redeemed this season yet, it's way too early for that. </p>

</p><p>Yeah, I wouldn't like it either if <i>all </i>the Homeworld gems get to be redeemed but the famous trio were the first "villains" who got introduced to us so I can see them getting redemption arcs. I actually want Jasper's redemption to not be so simple like Peridot's, but with some difficulty. I kind of think Jasper does have some morals like how she respected Rose's tactics. I think in general Jasper is a character who respects power. </p><p>
</p><p>Edit: to add, Jasper/Peridot/Lapis can also give their POVs about homeworld, if they get on Steven's side. Jasper could also spill some beans regarding the Rebellion war that happened, maybe she'll say stuff that Pearl didn't say and make Steven question the crystal gem's actions. Remember how the show constantly shows Rose as a shady character. </p><p>

<p>There are a lot of villains who don't get redeemed already so i'd prefer she gets a redemption. There's Yellow Diamond who can pretty much stay a villain since she's definitely the one who rules HW at this moment. Also, they can bring other gems to play the villains easily. </p><p>A redemption arc isn't overrated, and no one is 100% evil or good in this show. </p><p>
</p><p>If Peridot and Lapis get redemption and not Jasper, since they're always being shown as the Homeworld trio, i'll be very disappointed. </p><p>They already kind of parallel the Crystal gems. And to add, I'd rather the show don't follow the overused to death "bad vs good" trope. I hope it gets to be more complicated than that. </p>

<p>Didn't the crewiverse said that all the gem VA were casted because of their singing skills as well? I'm pretty sure Kimberly Brooks can sing and I won't be surprised if Jasper sings in the future, but not now. </p><p>

<p>I wouldn't mind if they got together, or even form a bond. But that could only happen if Jasper gets redemption and learn to respect Lapis in a kind of "you beat me and it was smart, so I respect that" from Jasper. I can easily see it. I mean, Rose was Jasper's enemy and yet she respected her tactics. </p><p>Though, I really doubt Lapis' beef is with Jasper mostly because I don't think Jasper has done anything to her in the extreme like the CGs/Rose did by trapping her for eternity in that mirror.... and <i>if </i>she gets to forgive them, then she can forgive Jasper. </p><p>
</p><p>A lot of things can change after they get freed from Malachite and some time has passed and of course i'd bet Steven would help because.. well, he's Steven. </p>

<p>I want to see Homeworld, mainly I want Jasper to find out Steven isn't Rose and possibly form a bond with him. Doesn't have to be overly friendly with the CGs but she can stay neutral. At least I hope HW does something morally bad for Jasper to handle so she'll side with Steven. Kinda like Piccolo, yes I want Jasper to end up like him. </p><p>Since in the show there are no good or bad characters as the crew have told us (probably paraphrasing but same meaning), I really don't want Jasper to stay antagonistic for too long. I like twists.... I also read an interesting theory that Jasper could see Steven's potential in really helping the HW and siding with him for that reason and eventually warms up to him. Dunno, I like softie big ladies who could wreck shit but also be good hearted. </p><p>
</p><p>All I want is for Jasper to not be bubbled or shattered and even better, be the Piccolo of the team. Pls pls dear crewniverse, i'll be eternally grateful. </p><p>Also my thirst for Jasper to let Steven borrow her fabulous cape for a bit, is real. </p>
