I'm laughing because both sides of the argument expect too much from this show.

If Jasper DOES come back for a redemption arc, she becomes a boring character who's potential to be a great message about how not everyone can be "redeemed" and how morality, especially in war, can be pretty gray, is completely thrown away for another meme character (i.e.: Jasper becomes a second Peridot).

If she DOESNT it doesn't matter anyway because it's too late to give that message. If SU was trying to talk about how some people just can't be brought back, portray Jasper as an at least half way sympathetic character (or even a character at this point, not the anime villain she is now), or demonstrate gray morality, they've long since lost their chance.

Jasper is literally that one guy from Dragon Ball who's name I do not remember because he served no purpose to the story at all except to be a villain who introduces other villains. Only difference being I'm pretty sure this guy died in his debut episode (but since this was Dragon Ball, it was probably 3 episodes) as he should have because he was boring and unimportant. Unfortunately, Jasper has been on the show long enough for people to care about her, and nothing of value has been made of her character in her time on the show.

She is actually worse than a filler Dragon Ball villain. And that's hella sad.
