Hmm, I think they didn't think that Pink would do such a thing after all, at first she really really wanted the colony, and tried to convince them after a long time that she was ready. In fact, when they found out, White was acting like it was all just one of Pinks "phases" so- they might not have realized because, she covered her tracks and her "shattering" was pretty convincing to them- kind of.

Well, he is a diamond, just erm kind of corrupted? I guess at the time.

The diamonds do have effect on him, like when Blue cried or made happy clouds, It's just in Change Your Mind his gem half had a shield for some reason
