Mùa 2 là mùa thứ 2 của loạt phim truyền hình Steven Universe. The season premiered on March 13, 2015, beginning with the episode "Full Disclosure". New characters were introduced over the course of the season. Because of "StevenBomb", a week full of new episodes including the season 1 finale and the premiere of season 2, four episodes were moved from season 1 and were subsequently aired during season 2. Those episodes are "Open Book", "Say Uncle", "Story for Steven" and "Shirt Club", respectively.

Season 2 went on a summer hiatus after "Reformed" on April 30,[1] and returned with a second StevenBomb, beginning with "Sworn to the Sword", running from June 15 to June 19. The third StevenBomb (called "Week of Sardonyx") aired starting with the first episode called "Cry for Help" on July 13 and ending with "Friend Ship" on July 17, marking the end of a short hiatus and the beginning of another one. New weekly episodes were planned to return in August,[2] but got pushed back to September 10[3] due to unspecified "boring production reasons".[4][5] After 6 weeks of new episodes, the show went on a winter hiatus on October 15, 2015, and returned January 4, 2016 with a StevenBomb starting with "The Answer" and ending with "Log Date 7 15 2" on January 8, 2016.

Season 2 and Season 3 were originally planned as two halves of a 52 episode season, however on March 30th, 2016, it was confirmed that there was a change of plans, and seasons 2 onwards will have just 26 episodes instead of 52, making the first half (episodes 53-78) the second season, with "Log Date 7 15 2" as the season 2 finale, while the second half, episodes 79-104, were reclassified as Season 3.[6][7]

Season 2 starts off following the events of the first Homeworld Invasion with "Full Disclosure", where Steven realizes the impact his life and safety has on his friends and family. He makes the decision to cut out Connie and all the other humans from his life to protect them - a plan that isn't successful when Connie confronts him, and the two decide to be together, no matter what. This isn't the end of his post-traumatic stress, however, as in "Joy Ride", Steven comes clean about his insecurities to The Cool Kids, and the four go for a car ride in the middle of the night. They come across Peridot's pod in a wheat field, which is apprehended by the Crystal Gems. In "Love Letters", Steven reconnects with Jamie, the mail man, who, when meeting Garnet, falls madly in love with her. However, after some incidents with love letters, Garnet has a talk with him about how love takes work. In "Reformed", the Crystal Gems find The Slinker in Amethyst's room, and the many encounters with the gem monster cause Amethyst to poof and repeatedly generate, trying to impress Garnet each time but failing. In the end, she assumes a stable form very visibly similar, although just a little different than her initial form.

Steven and Connie's relationship keeps is explored more deeply in "Sworn to the Sword", where Steven asks Pearl to teach the wonders of sword fighting. Pearl gets overzealous and teaches Connie how to sword fight in Steven's stead, sacrificing everything, just like she once did with Rose Quartz. Steven and Connie, however, argue with Pearl and make her understand that they wish to fight together. Meanwhile, Ronaldo Fryman has been working on a documentary about the Gems ever since the first Homeworld invasion, which the Gems watch on the Internet in "Rising Tides, Crashing Skies". But the plot thickens when, in a successful attempt to find Peridot in the Kindergarten, Steven and Garnet come across monstrous creatures created by Homeworld. The creatures are composed of forced fusions of the shards of fallen Crystal Gems, which upset Garnet greatly. Amidst the confusion, Peridot was able to escape. In "We Need to Talk", Connie and Steven accidentally fuse into Stevonnie in front of Greg, who, surprised, decides to tell the kids the story of how he met Rainbow Quartz, Pearl and Rose Quartz's fusion, and of how he, not successfully, tried to fuse with Steven's mother. Some time later, the Gems continue looking for Malachite in "Chille Tid." Much to everyone's surprise, Steven can communicate with Lapis and Jasper through his dreams. This proves uneventful, however, as Lapis refuses Steven's help and Steven is unable to make contact again. However, Steven's contact with Lapis shows that she is more or less able to hold control over her fusion, however unstable. Lapis then submits to the fusion of Malachite, showing that she and Jasper may finally lose themselves to the fusion.

In "Cry for Help", the escapee Peridot strikes again by fixing the Communication Hub to contact Yellow Diamond back on Homeworld. She is successful until Pearl and Garnet form Sardonyx to dismantle the hub. Pearl becomes wrapped up in the feeling of being Sardonyx with Garnet, causing her to build the hub back two times, only to fuse with Garnet more times to destroy it repeatedly. Garnet comes to know of this and becomes very conflicted, and decides to let a little steam off by going on a road trip with Greg and Steven in "Keystone Motel", where the disagreements between Ruby and Sapphire cause them to unfuse. Their argument goes on, causing Steven serious grief. They fuse again when the two come to terms with their emotions and realize how silly they're acting with one another. In "Onion Friend", Steven and Amethyst find themselves visiting Onion's house, where Amethyst reunites with her old friend Vidalia, Onion's mother. Onion and Steven go off on strange adventures around his mysterious house while Amethyst gets to reconnect with her old friend and talk about her stress with Garnet and Pearl's recent feud. In "Historical Friction", Steven requests Pearl's help on upgrading the play he and Jamie are putting together about the creation of Beach City. Later, in "Friend Ship", Pearl has been brainstorming new ways to catch Peridot to make up for her lies to Garnet. She locates Peridot through her escape pod and leads an expedition to find her. They meet Peridot in an old ship, where Peridot has plans to trap and kill them all, which proves wholly unsuccessful. During their hazardous predicament on the ship, Pearl and Garnet can talk out their feelings, and their conflict comes to an end. They almost catch Peridot at the ship, but she's able to escape yet again, although without a foot.

In "Nightmare Hospital", Connie carries on her sword fighting lessons with Pearl, only for her mother to find and confiscate Rose's Sword. This leads Connie and Steven to the hospital where Connie's mother works to retrieve the sword, only to find forced Gem fusions who were thought to injure people. The Gem experiments then begin attacking them. Connie and Steven work together to defeat them, and after Connie reveals her secrets, Connie's mother hesitantly agrees to Connie's continued training. A few days later, in "Sadie's Song", Steven discovers Sadie's secret talent of singing, and with her mother, the two work together to make Sadie's performance one to remember. They overdo it, which causes some undue stress on Sadie. Sadie finally tells her mother and Steven that it should be about her, not them, and the night ends on a positive note as Steven performs in Sadie's stead.

One night, in "Catch and Release", Peridot kidnaps Steven and orders him to fix the broken Homeworld Warp, but she is finally caught by the Crystal Gems, resulting in her being poofed and bubbled. She is later released by Steven to leak some information on the Cluster to him. She refuses to speak with the other Gems, and before revealing further information, she locks herself in the bathroom, where she stays until "When It Rains". In this episode, she mistakes a thunderstorm for the still-forming Cluster's emerging, but Steven explains rain to her. This leads her to believe that Steven is brilliant. Showing an unusual amount of trust towards Steven, Peridot shows him the Gem experiment logs in the Prime Kindergarten Control Room, as well as more information on the Cluster. As they're leaving the Kindergarten, they are ambushed by forced fusion Gems but are saved by the Crystal Gems, who berate Steven for letting Peridot leave the house. Peridot then decides that she should tell them about the Cluster, which she does in "Back to the Barn." She decides to assist the Gems in the construction of a drill that leads to a robot engineering fight between Pearl and Peridot, which leads to Peridot gaining a new respect for Pearl's tenacity. However, Pearl isn't the only one Peridot upsets. In "Too Far", when going to the Kindergarten to get one of the injector drills, Peridot unintentionally hurts Amethyst's feelings by telling her she's defective for being too small for the Quartz she is. However, the two also settle things up when Peridot saves Amethyst from a runaway drill and apologizes.

Later, in "The Answer", Garnet wakes Steven on his birthday at midnight to tell him the story of how Ruby and Sapphire first met each other: Ruby and Sapphire escaped the Cloud Arena just before Blue Diamond was going to break Ruby for fusing with Sapphire after a failed attempt (caused by Ruby) to capture the rebels Rose Quartz and Pearl. This leads Ruby and Sapphire to wander the Earth together, finally experimenting once more with fusion to become Garnet for the first time (intentionally). It is then that they meet Rose Quartz, and are recruited into the Crystal Gems. Later in that same day, on "Steven's Birthday", Steven celebrates his birthday with the Crystal Gems, Connie, and his dad, and he tries to make himself taller to impress Connie. Amethyst tries to warn him about prolonged shapeshifting, but his stubbornness ends up causing him to revert back to being a baby. With the help of Connie, Steven was able to return to his normal size the next day. Days later, in "It Could've Been Great", the drill is completed except for the exact location of the Cluster. To find this information, Steven, Peridot, and the Crystal Gems travel to the Moon Base. Peridot explains what Homeworld's original intent was: to hollow out the Earth and convert its husk into a bioweapon. This conversation further separates Peridot from the Crystal Gems, who view the Earth very differently. They are upset further when Peridot comments how the Cluster wouldn't have been created if Rose Quartz hadn't started the rebellion. While exiting the base, Peridot steals a Diamond Communicator from the communications panel; Steven noticed Peridot was holding this item but did not confront her at the time. Later that night, in "Message Received", Steven had a little chat with Peridot alone to test where her loyalties truly stand; while distracting Peridot, he stole the Diamond Communicator before locking Peridot in the truck. Steven told the Crystal Gems Peridot's plan moments before she escapes and steals back the Communicator. The Crystal Gems catch up to her, but are too late, as Peridot successfully activates the Diamond Communicator. Peridot is greeted by Yellow Diamond's Pearl, then after a heated argument regarding the fate of the Earth with Yellow Diamond herself, Peridot insults her former superior and hangs up on her. The Diamond Communicator then self-destructs (safely, thanks to Steven and Garnet). Realizing what has just happened, the Crystal Gems tell Peridot that she has become a Crystal Gem, whether she likes it or not. Later, in "Log Date 7 15 2," Steven finds Peridot in conflicted denial and shock that she spoke to Yellow Diamond in such a disrespectful manner. Peridot tosses her tape recorder at Steven, claiming it was a chronicle of her spiral into madness. Steven listens in on Peridot's tape recorder, only to realize just how far Peridot has come in understanding both the Earth and the Crystal Gems, along with bettering her understanding of Garnet.
