We know how torn up Steven was about having to send Eyeball Ruby out into the endless reaches of space.  If Steven has trauma over something like that, what will it be like for him when he actually ''has'' to shatter a gem?

Well imagine if that gem was suddenly destroyed when she attempted to betray him

We know how torn up Steven was about having to send Eyeball Ruby out into the endless reaches of space.  If Steven has trauma over something like that, what will it be like for him when he actually has to shatter a gem?

Perhaps the device destroying organic life is powered by the gemstone in the villian and Steven is pressured to make the decision under time constraints.
