I am a firm believer in the Rose = Pink Diamond theory, I still dont understand the doubt. Strangest discussion on here to me is the thought that the Diamonds, are simply a higher caste and not the leaders of the homeworld. Diamonds can not simply be scientists in a larger society because it conflicts with all the imagery seen in the show thus far. The coloration of the symbols and shape of the diamonds (or triangles) points towards authority not just high class. These symbols are omnipresent, marking all gem architecture, statues, murals, and uniforms. This bears a resemblance to cult personalities like those in monarchies or dictatorships. The Mural in "Serious Steven" is the strongest evidence as societies normally do not depict their scientists commanding armies or fighting.
"Yellow diamond probably isnt a leader, she is close with peridot and jasper, two low level gems. Why would a homeworld leader stoop so low? She wouldnt... i just do not believe in the diamond authority."
A king can consult with knights and a general can meet with scouts. I do not believe peridot and jasper are low level gems more likely mid-level. When talking with Amythest, Peridot states that she should be leading Pearl (which are simply "nice furniture") and Garnet because she is of a higher caste despite her imperfections. Pearls, rubies, and sapphires are all of a lower caste than jasper or peridot. Additionally, Peridot is an engineer, in RL, engineers are not lower class individuals. They would at least constitute middle to upper class. Jasper commands Peridot so she would be of a higher class than peridot.
"Diamond shapes are just used to represent people, it makes sense given the gem shape focus of the culture, and the diamond can make tesselations of any number, so the aristocratic population can change."
Besides diamonds and stars, triangles are also prominent shapes in the show seen on Rose's shield and the bodies of the diamonds in "Serious Steven". In fact, the triangle has more association with Rose and Diamonds than even the diamond shape. I simply believe that the diamond respresents the Homeworld while the star represents the Crystal gems. It is the triangle that represents a Diamond as only Diamonds (or suspected Diamonds) have been depicted with triangles.
Really? Coloring and shapes? What stable evidence. Already countered evidence. And what makes you think those are diamonds in serious steven. It could be random gems in major events in the war. But why would yellow diamond be the first to know everything? It wouldnt make sense. We dont know if ruby or sapphire are lower than peridot. Engineers were fairly low caste, as apparently it was unheard of to have a pearl. And what is with your argument assumption of diamonds? You could just claim every gem is a diamond, with no reasons. Triangles could be associated with a number of things, triangles, stars, and diamonds are all pretty common. Diamond could easily represent homeworld as a whole, the crystal structure being most resemblent to a diamond. Stars would be crystal gems cause they liked it. They can claim whatever shape they want.
"Engineers were fairly low caste as apparently it was unheard of to have a pearl" -- do you even watch the show?
Direct from the transcript "Back to the Barn"
--Peridot: She's a Pearl. She's a made-to-order servant just like the hundreds of other Pearls being flaunted around back on Homeworld. -- Pearls are servants. A servant is lower than Engineers
If you look at the comparables to other TV shows, you do not see a highly regimented military or even realistic societies. Although I hate this comparison, Dragon Ball Z regularly has high ranking officials interact with lower officers. Adventure Time has Finn interact with Royality on a daily basis ( he does not have to set up an appointment with the royal desk clerk). Transformers has the leaders of their respective factions fighting like it is a gangland brawl than actual warfare.
You are also cherry picking my words. You also do not address what I say about Jasper either. Peridot states that a Quartz type is of a higher ranking than either herself, Garnet, or Pearl therefore a quartz is a least greater than those gems. Peridot shows disdain for Ruby and Sapphire just like Jasper.
If the Diamonds did not lead their society, why the hell would a diamond be chosen as the symbol. It inevitably sets up favoritism comparisons when one group is respresented more than another. Before you say "tesselation", any geometric shape can be a tesselation, so why choose a diamond which can represent a specific class instead of more common gem cuts like a pentagon or an octagon, even interlocking circles. This show oozes symbolism and hidden features that can not be simply dismissed. Lest we forget how it was theorized Garnet was a fusion but people dismissed that as false until it is literally spelled out for them because the creators did not say anything about it. Or the fact that Amethyst was a similar gem type to Jasper based on their "Sonic like spin" attacks.
