That could also be the result of percieving the Cluster's chaotic hive-mind. Stevonnie's had stress hallucinations before; at the rave when there was the disco-bubble.
Yeah this feels like the Summer of super-powers.
We knew eventually he would start showing more powers due to his hertiage and make up. I am surprised they waited until Season 3 to really start showing that Steven has a handle on them. He must be hitting that Human/Gem hybrid puberty at 14 and unlocking everything.

Well really they waited until season 2 and CN changed the name of the second half for some reason, but yeah.
At the age of 14, the human gem begins to develop it's floating powers. It's ok, there's nothing to be ashamed of.
"Oh great, Gemtronian puberty!"-said in Rattrap's voice.

second of all the driving thing. its not that hard to do. 2 pedals, 1 wheel and a gear stick. NOT THAT HARD TO DO!!!
They were doing drift stunt driving. That is NOT easy to do.
So, I've given this some thought, and I have now decided that Beach City Drift is one of my top 5 favorite Steven Universe episodes.
Reasons:
a) Stevonnie returns. Been waiting a year and a half for this.
b) Character development. Steven and Connie learn to ignore people like Kevin.
c) Excitement. The car race was about as exciting as anything can get in an 11 minute format.
d) Surprise. The episode, for the most part, avoided being predictable.
e) A really good Epilog. ;)
So, it was all true. Steven and Connie were obsessed about Kevin. They want to challenge him to this race and beat him, to make him feel upset. And for a moment, they've learned not to be so obsessed to anyone, anymore. They totally played far pretty good with Kevin, and they congrats Kevin for his winning. And at the end, Kevin just now sounded like he's obsessed with Steven and Connie (as Stevonnie). Because of his shouts. Lol! ^u^
My only complaint about the episode is that Kevin didn't meet a firey end as his car crashed into something (or off of something).
