I was reading this Tumblr post and it got me thinking. The Roaming Eye was made for five Rubies. There was no way Jasper could fit into that machine. No way.
The Rubies didn't come to rescue her, they came to either break her or arrest her. They could poof her or they could shatter her.
Plus, why would you want to rescue a soldier that:
Thats what I thought, They would poof her and take her to homeworld to reform and answer to Yellow Diamond's punishments
Jasper wasn't the leader of the mission, she was the escort and Lapis was the informant. Peridot was the leader of the mission. The only reasons YD would arrest Jasper is that 1) YD is feeling particularly cold-blooded today or 2) she blames Jasper, the escort, for not seeing it through that the prisoners, Lapis, Peridot, and Jasper returned to homeworld with a progress report on the cluster completed. The roaming eye looked, to me at least, that it could fit more than just 5 small rubies, plus, this a gem machine, it could be more than meets the eye (not a transformers reference) I still think YD wanted Jasper to fill her in on what had happened on Earth, or I guess Jupiter too, at this point... Tee hee!
Nope as revealed in "Hit The Diamond", Jasper was the one in charge of that mission, not Peridot as we and maybe even Peridot herself were lead to believe. That can't be disputed anymore.
And in case anyone argues why sent these 5 rubies, why not someone stronger if the mission is to capture Jasper, well as I said before I will say again, it doesn't matter, the rubies have Yellow Diamond's authority, so if Jasper was a loyal Homeworld gems she has no choice but obey, Yellow Diamond could have sent a toddler on a mission to bring back Jasper, and Jasper couldn't fight back or else she is a tratior.
Again, there's nothing to suggest Jasper is in any form of trouble and plenty of evidence to suggest she isn't.
Well since Yellow Diamond considers the Earth mission a failure, she is not getting a raise or a promotion either. She be lucky if she just gets poofed and bubbled when she gets back to Homeworld.
And if evidence is she sent the rubies and not a Quartz, Yellow Diamond can sent anyone she wants, as long as they have Yellow Diamond authority and Jasper is not a traiter, she has to listen to them.
Okay but when is this imminent punishment ever implied? When Yellow Diamond finds out the mission fails she reacts with mild annoyance, nothing more.
Neptune ;)
There are several reasons why Yellow Diamond wants Jasper
1) she wants Jasper to give her a report on what happened to her mission
2) she wants to destroy Jasper for failing her mission
3) she wants to destroy Jasper before she gives up secret information to the Crystal Gems
YD: Listen here, Jelly Bean-
Jasper: It's Jasper.
YD: I said that, Jigsaw.
That would be hilarious.
Jasper seemed to be one of the Warriors who fought against Rose Quartz, seems legit that as Jasper being the prized pupil of Yellow Diamond, possibly the diamonds themselves, Jasper is least likely to turn against them and come back to finish the mission. Jasper might even have something precious and really awesome information O-O
