"Comet" is a song that is performed by a younger Greg Universe at his concert in "Story for Steven". This song was first heard as the sneak peek for the episode aired by Cartoon Network. The theme revolves around Greg's dreams and aspirations as an artist, as well as his place in the world.
Some... say I have no direction, that I'm a light-speed distraction, that's a knee-jerk reaction. Still this is the final frontier, everything is so clear, to my destiny I steer This life in the stars is all I've ever known, Stars and stardust in infinite space is my only home But the moment that I hit the stage, thousands of voices are calling my name And I know in my heart it's been worth it all of the while And as my albums fly off of the shelves, handing out autographed pics of myself, This life I chose isn't easy but sure is one heck of a ride At the moment that I hit the stage, I hear the universe calling my name And I know deep down in my heart I have nothing to fear And as the solar wind blows through my hair, knowing I have so much more left to share A wandering spirit who's tearing its way through the cold atmosphere I'll fly like a comet Soar like a comet Crash like a comet I'm just a comet

Pepe's Burgers Jingle[]
It is revealed in "Mr. Greg" that Marty rewrote and sold "Comet" to Pepe's Burgers as a commercial jingle. Because of this, he was legally obligated to pay Greg $10,000,000 in royalties. Sadie Miller is heard singing the jingle to herself while working at the Big Donut in "Crack the Whip".
[Marty] From the moment the meat hits the flame My stomach is growling without any shame And I know in my gut it's been worth the five-ninety-five Would you like a burger? From Pepe's Burgers
Trivia[]
When Greg catches a star that falls on his hand, it is done in a similar way as in the opening of Space Dandy.
There is a distinct difference between the scenery at the beginning of the song and the end: the song begins fully immersed in Greg's fantasy at a much grander stage and ends back in reality at a much less impressive stage.
The part where Greg is "cloning" might be a reference to the MV "Chop Suey!" by System of a Down.
The only person who saw this performance was Rose Quartz. This is seen shortly after the song ends, showing Rose who enjoyed the song and was enthusiastic to ask questions to Greg after his performance.
This song is how Greg met Rose Quartz. This has been mentioned in "Laser Light Cannon" and seen in "Story for Steven"
Pearl remarks that Rose would've loved the rewritten burger jingle version as well.
As Marty received 75% of Greg's earnings, he likely earned around 40 million in royalties off of the jingle and now currently owns around 30 million.
Young Greg's look and "universe" guitar were based on Nick DeMayo's old band, and the song drew from one of their songs, "Keep On Falling In Love".
