The Crystal Temple is where the Crystal Gems live. The house portion first appeared in the Pilot, but the interior of the Temple first appeared in Together Breakfast.
Description
The Crystal Temple is a sacred place where the Crystal Gems live. It is their base from which they plan how to protect humanity. At the gateway to the Temple is a typical beach house. Inside the Temple itself are several cavernous rooms all connected.
The gate inside the beach house is able to open into different places within the Temple. This is shown when Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl each open the same gate into different rooms. Pearl even stepped out of Amethyst's room, and almost immediately reopened the gate into her own room. The way the door opens depends upon the room it is being connected to. For example, Amethyst's door has a curved line, while Pearl's is a straight vertical line with a circle around the star on the door. Only a Gem that is able to utilize their power can open the gate.
Known Rooms
- Steven's Room: This is in the exterior beach house.
- Pearl's Room: It has a waterfall leading to Amethyst's room.
- Amethyst's Room: There's a corridor in Amethyst's room that leads to a space-like room with floating rocks. This eventually leads to the Crystal Heart.
- The Burning Room: This room is connected to a vein from the Crystal Heart.
Trivia
- The Crystal Temple is referred to as the Crystal Palace in the Pilot.
- It is dangerous for Steven inside the temple, since he has not yet learned to control his gem powers.
- It is unknown what Garnet's room actually looks like
- Theory: The Crystal Temple on the outside may possibly depict all four of the Crystal Gems fused together. If you look at the temple from the outside, there are large stone resembling gems on the temple's forhead (Pearl), chest (Amethyst), and if one looks closely (and on the title cards of all the episodes), on the palm of the arm holding Steven's Laundrey (Garnet). Since there is not a lack of visible palms (or arms for that matter) the gem could just be on this arm. Also the hair of the temple resembles Rose Quartz's hair (The gem resembling Rose's gem could be the door to the gem's rooms). There are also four arms on the temple, and the only known gems in the series so far are the four introduced.
