"The music for Amethyst and Pearl’s fight from “On the Run”. Surasshu made Amethyst’s beat and I wrote Pearl’s piano!

We love collaborating on Amethyst x Pearl music. Because of the drum and piano arrangement, Surasshu makes the entire rhythm and I create the entire tonality of the piece. We get to work together and face off against each other at the same time".

Trivia

It can be considered the opposite of "Amalgam" as it is based on Amethyst and Pearl fighting against each other blindly while the latter is based on them working together to achieve a common goal by fusing as Opal.
The title of the song "Defective" is clear foreshadowing to "Too Far" when Peridot revealed that Amethyst stayed in the ground too long, making her a "defective" Kindergarten Gem.
