Trivia[]

  • Early press releases mention three chase sets that never came to fruition - 'Dazzling Diamonds', 'Scratch and Sniff', and 'Stickers'.
  • The base set uses the episode order used on Cartoon Network's site when attributing cards to different episodes, leading to some cards being out of order (ie 'Mr. Universe', a card from "Story for Steven", coming after cards from "Jailbreak"), or being given incorrect season/episode numbers ('Betraying the Diamonds' lists "Message Received" as being episode 3 of season 3, when it's episode 25 of season 2).
  • Shortly after releasing, it came to light that card artist Rene Cordova illustrated a Sketch Card with an independent artist's original character ("OC" or "Gemsona") instead of a canon character. This card was listed on eBay by an individual separate from the artist who obtained it in a pack. The owner of the original character was not permitted by Cryptozoic to obtain the card depicting them for themselves, and Cryptozoic purchased the card from the seller with the intent to destroy it.[1]
