—"Garnet's Universe" |
Foxman is the deuteragonist of the story imagined by Steven in the episode "Garnet's Universe", when he was telling Garnet about what he thought she did with her day.
Appearance
Foxman is a reddish-orange anthropomorphic fox, with a muscular upper body (originally slender before becoming the caretaker) and black pants. He wears a white bead necklace around his neck, which bears a resemblance to bead necklaces worn by Buddhist monks.
Trivia
- Foxman is voiced by Matthew Moy, who also voices Lars.
- Whether it be intentional or a complete coincidence, Foxman resembles Lars, due to him being a character who at first appears to be an antagonist, but ends up being a good guy who is misunderstood because no one bothered to fact-check the situation. This parallels Lars, because Lars acts like a jerk and does some unfavorable things, but he's not actually a bad person.
- Also, they both have some relation to ring, Lars with his ears, and Foxman being transformed into an onion ring.

- Foxman's role as a shrine guardian references Japanese mythology, where fox spirits are able to drive off evil. Fox statues are often placed at the entrance of shrines.
