"Fusion" (referred to as "The Classroom Gems: Special Lesson" in the title card) is a Classroom Gems short.
Synopsis
The Gems teach Steven about fusion.
Plot
The episode starts with Garnet punching the title card and starts yelling that she's gonna teach the viewers about fusion, thus, unfusing into Ruby and Sapphire. Next, Pearl explains about fusion, while the four perform separate fusion dances, resulting to Garnet re-fusing, and Pearl and Amethyst fusing into Opal. Garnet explains further, as Opal loses her balance and unfuses back to Pearl and Amethyst, Pearl getting angry at Amethyst for not collaborating, and Amethyst doubting Pearl about her collaboration, then Garnet shows a clip of the several fusions through out the show, Steven interrupts with a question asking what is the main purpose of fusing, making the three fuse into Alexandrite, posing and saying "Love!", the episode ends with a title card saying "Class Dismissed".

Errors
- While Garnet was fusing, Ruby and Sapphire's gems switch.
- When Garnet had her close-up on screen. She has navy-colored hair.
- Garnet's Gems on Alexandrite are on the bottom set on arms instead of the top ones.
- While Garnet, Amethyst and Pearl have their now, post-regeneration outfits, Opal and Alexandrite's chibi designs appear to be based on their old, pre-regeneration forms.
- This could be because their old outfits were easier to adapt into simplified chibi-style designs.
- It's also possible that the latest designs for Opal and Garnet (the ones from after Amethyst's regeneration in Reformed) were considered spoilers, or that they had not yet been finalized when the short was being made.
