"Gem Harvest" is the 8th & 9thepisode of the fourth season of Steven Universe and 111th & 112nd episode overall. It is a 22-minute special episode.
Synopsis
Steven’s autumn visit to the barn brings a new stranger into his life.[1]
Plot
The episode begins with Steven near the farm door trying to get Lapis and Peridot's attention and reminds them about his visit. At first, he looks very confused as to why they aren't responding. He then sees a plush alien head with antlers and a doorbell rope on the right side of the front barn wall.
Steven thinks it is a doorbell and pulls the rope, but the plush head and antlers fall apart from each other. He looks behind him and notices Lapis and Peridot's garden and states "Hey, that looks new." While holding the antlers and head, he calls out for Lapis and Peridot and apologizes for breaking it. He then states he doesn't know how to fix it, but he says it'd make a good mask and shows an example. He looks out to see their vast garden. He asks himself if he "died and went to the back of a cereal box." Steven walks between two hoses then gets sprayed and drops the objects out of shock. The camera cuts to Lapis reading in a lawn chair surrounded by the spraying water and Peridot in the background riding a tractor. Lapis greets Steven and flies towards him. Peridot, realizing Steven came, immediately tries attracting his attention and states she is on a tractor while it's still going. The camera cuts once more to Lapis asking if she sprayed him by accident. He states she did it "just a little" and shakes the water off like a dog. Lapis says she's glad he could make it. Peridot then barges into their conversation and asks how they like their "little experiment". He states it's amazing and asks how they got inspired to do it. Peridot states that as a certified Kindergartener she has all of the skills required for growing gems and thought she should try growing something else. She then jumps down from the tractor and says "Who knows? Maybe they're ready right now." She yanks an ear of corn from a stalk, says hello to it, smiles and says that maybe she can't hear her in there, then yells, "I MADE YOU IN MY IMAGE AND YOU WILL DO AS I SAY!" Steven laughs and asks if she thought the corn was "gonna walk right out of the ground and do what you told it to, did you?" Peridot says "It's not?" Steven then explains that's not how vegetables work. Peridot and Lapis, sad that their experiment wouldn't work, go to disassemble the tractor. After they leave, Steven wants to help them. He finds a seed on the ground and licks it to create a sentient plant (even though he says Garnet told him not to lick things he finds on the ground). The next morning, Peridot is excitedly pulling Steven through the field to where a sentient pumpkin has come to life. Peridot picks the pumpkin and it runs to Steven, to Peridot and Lapis's disappointment. Steven tries to claim that it must be the pumpkin treats in his back pocket. Peridot says that doesn't make any sense. Steven then admits that he created the pumpkin, furthering their disappointment. Peridot tries to be upbeat by pointing out the pumpkins they did create, though Lapis responds by saying that Steven's pumpkin has a face, and theirs do not. Steven tries to cheer them up by showing them how to carve a face into a pumpkin, which scares the sentient pumpkin. The sentient pumpkin runs into Lapis's arms, and Peridot calls it Veggie Head. Steven then comments that it's nice to have a new member of the family, just as a plane flies over head. The three run through the field to the barn where a man is yelling about hobos trashing the barn. He spots Steven, Lapis, and Peridot, and accuses Lapis and Peridot of being "Hobettes", saying that being a hobo is a man's job. He then notices their "weird clothes" and gems, and deduces they must be hippies. Lapis pulls water from the pool in front of the barn and creates a hand which subdues the man. Steven tells her not to hurt him, and asks the man what he wants. The man replies that he wants the "hippies" out of his barn. Steven replies "your barn?" Later, Greg, Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl show up, as Steven called them about the man. Garnet tells Steven that they should've gotten a guard dog, when Veggie Head appears. Garnet says "That'll work."

The most famous operator of the F.2 Fighter was the Royal Flying Corps, the air force arm of the British Army.
