Greg's Guitar is a standard acoustic guitar that belongs to Greg Universe. It makes its first appearance in the episode "House Guest". Greg uses it in songs such as "Wailing Stone".
History
"House Guest"
Greg uses the guitar to play "Dear Old Dad" with Steven.
"Winter Forecast"
When Steven, Connie and Greg are stuck in Greg's Van, Steven plays his dad's guitar.
"The Message"
The guitar is seen again while Greg plays "Wailing Stone".
"Story for Steven"
Greg plays the guitar at the beginning of the episode, transitioning to young Greg performing "Comet" in the flashback. A similar guitar can also be seen with young Greg in the past.
"Shirt Club"
Greg offers guitar lessons and has Steven hand out flyers. At the Car Wash, he sits with his guitar ready to teach any newcomers. It also is represented in Steven's poster.
"Mr. Greg"
Greg uses the guitar to play "Don't Cost Nothing".
"Three Gems and a Baby"
Greg uses the guitar again to play "I Could Never Be (Ready)" to start off telling Steven about their first winter together.
"Lion 4: Alternate Ending
When Steven finds Greg while looking for "Nora", he's playing the guitar, because they were on his favorite spot to play music.
"The Question"
Ruby plays the guitar by the campfire. Greg is surprised because she picked it up in only ten minutes.
"Escapism"
Greg plays the guitar as Lion approaches, carrying a Watermelon Steven on his back.
Electric guitar
Additionally, Greg also owns a "Jader" model electric guitar, prominently used earlier in his musical career. Songs including "Comet" and "What Can I Do (For You)" have been performed with this particular instrument.
The guitar is a double cut and at the front depicts the half of the Earth, with a visible moon and stars. It also includes what appears to be an angled humbucking pickup and a whammy bar, and bears resemblance to a 1986 Kramer Baretta, specifically this model (the bottom one).
Trivia
- When Steven's poster has lightning bolts coming out of the guitar (for effect), Garnet suggested rocks to be flying out of it as Steven has said that the guitar "rocked".
