The Guacola Clones are the main antagonistic faction of the Steven Universe: Crystal Clean comic strip. They are creatures created by the Guacola Monster.
Appearances[]
The Guacola Clones appear to be clones of the citizens of Beach City as well as miniature versions of the Guacola Monster.
History[]
At the beginning of the comic, Steven and the other Crystal Gems came outside to discover that the entire beach was covered in Guacola. Shortly after coming to this discovery, Steven spotted a being that looked exactly like him, except it was made entirely of Guacola. It hissed and ran into downtown Beach City, leaving large amounts of Guacola in its path. Despite their best efforts, the Gems were unable to stop it due to its unique ability to reanimate itself after being broken apart by attacks. It ran all the way to It's a Wash, where it confronted Greg by turning into a giant dragon-like monster. Using his hose, Greg was able to make it disintegrate by splashing it with water.
The Gems eventually come to the realization that they need a power washer in order to defeat the monster. With the help of Peridot, they quickly assemble one, and pursue a second monster who was seen drawing a star on the side of a house. After escaping up onto a roof through a drain pipe, it changed its form back to Steven (previously having been in the dragon-like form) before it was doused with water and defeated.
Steven and Peridot are given a note to meet someone in the Beach City sewer. This turns out to be Buck who explains that his father had accepted a deal offered by Marty to put a Guacola silo on his property. Buck deduced that the monsters were most likely coming from there. Just as he finishes informing them of his hypothesis, a large Guacola monster appears on the ceiling and chases them out of the sewer.
When Steven, Peridot, and Buck went to confront the silo the next day, the Guacola Monster revealed itself, creating more clones to attack the trio. At first, the trio is able to take down some of the clones using the water guns, but they eventually overwhelm them. That's when the Crystal Gems appear to assist. After a while, the clones and the monster are able to freeze everyone in Guacola, and so Steven ventures inside of the monster to retrieve its gem. After bubbling the gem, the creatures are defeated.
Abilities[]
- Guacola Body: The creatures are able to manipulate Guacola, and in turn their own bodies. This gives them extreme durability and the ability to perform self-reanimation.
Trivia[]
- The Guacola Clones are similar to the Water Clones created by Lapis Lazuli.
