During "Gem Karaoke", Steven, the Crystal Gems, and Connie sing to a karaoke version of the song. The song also can be heard during Bluebird Azurite's welcome party in the episode "Bluebird".

This is Sadie's first musical number in the series.
Steven sings the song in Sadie's place at Beach-a-Palooza.
"Haven't You Noticed (I'm a Star)" is the song's official name, as revealed in the credits.
The lyrics change slightly between Olivia Olson's original recording and the version sung by Sadie and Steven:
- "I hypnotize by the way I'm walking", (Olivia Olson)
- "They're hypnotized by my way of walking", (Sadie and Steven)
Olivia Olson is also the voice of Marceline the Vampire Queen from Adventure Time, the series Rebecca Sugar worked on before creating Steven Universe.
The entire song references Pink Diamond/Rose Quartz. A couple of examples of this include:
- "I can't help if I make a scene" may reference how she pleaded Pearl to shapeshift into Rose Quartz and stage her shattering.
- "Stepping out of my hot pink limousine" references Pink stepping out of her palanquin moments before her supposed shattering.
- "When I pose, they scream" references how much shock Homeworld Gems were in following the onset of Era 2.
