Plot[]
The story begins with Steven inviting the Gems to the Universe Family Camping Ground to begin a camping trip. Steven assigns each Gem a task. Pearl will build the tent, Garnet will gather firewood and light a fire, and Amethyst will unpack the food basket.
Steven then rushes off to collect some extra firewood before stepping on a shard of broken glass. Steven is shocked and heads back to tell Garnet about the glass so she can clean it up. When he returns, he finds the Gems have less than completed their tasks appropriately. Garnet has lit an overly large fire, Pearl has arranged the tents in an ambiguous manner, and Amethyst has eaten a bag worth of marshmallows. Steven chastises each Gem before they all decide to prepare some s'mores.
The Gems and Steven gather around the campfire before Steven recites some scary stories. He begins with the story about a babysitter (Garnet) taking care of two children. Sometimes, the babysitter receives a call asking "Where are the children?", which after a while is ignored. However, when the babysitter returns, the children are gone. The Gems didn't react to Steven's story, with Garnet criticizing its predictability.
Steven then asks if the Gems have scary stories of their own from Homeworld. Garnet and Pearl admit they do have a scary story, but it is from Earth, not Homeworld. This story is the tale of the Glass Ghost.
The story starts with a young Amethyst being told not to venture into the woods by a concerned Garnet and Pearl. However, she does this anyway, and she grows stronger and more fearless each time. One day, Amethyst finds a few shards of glass on the ground and encounters the Glass Ghost. She is said to scream in agony, but when Garnet and Pearl trace her screams, they find only a few shards of glass remaining.
Steven and Amethyst are both terrified in response. Pearl attempts to calm them down by saying the story is merely a myth. They all agree to head to sleep. Amethyst claims the tent as she feels safer and Steven sleeps next to Garnet and Pearl. Later in the night, Steven awakens to find Garnet and Pearl chatting by the fire, and he heads off into the woods at a strange sound before encountering the one and only Glass Ghost.
