"Issue 30" is the 30th issue of the 2017 Steven Universe comic series published by KaBOOM! Studios and the 38th issue overall.
Synopsis[]
After a hard-won battle against a corrupted gem, the Crystal Gems must work with the residents of Beach City to repair the damage.[1]
Plot[]
The Crystal Gems have just finished defeating a corrupted gem monster that managed to wreck part of Beach City. All of the town's citizens come together to help fix parts of the town. Pearl blames herself for the destruction, because of some unspecified mistake that she made during the battle, so she puts everything into working on the relief effort and becomes extra harsh towards herself and those around her. The cool kids throw a sunset party that evening as an attempt to cool off. Pearl is reluctantly convinced to go, and although she has fun, she feels guilty about it afterwards and snaps at Connie.
The next day, Pearl continues to push herself without taking breaks, while the others try to talk her down. Steven ultimately talks to Pearl herself and manages to convince her of the value of taking breaks, because there will always be more work to do no matter what. Jenny tells them of another party happening at the beach that night, and Pearl accepts this invitation eagerly.
