This article is about Jades. You may be looking for The Jade fusion. |
The Jades are a broad species of Homeworld Gem, high enough in the established hierarchy to attend the Era 3 Ball in "Together Alone". They appear as at least eight different types, with each type having between two and four shades. according o rebecca sugar, The cog shaped gems get body shamed everyday on homeworld since they emerged.
Two Jades (considered two different types of Gems due to the fact of being from different courts and having different apearances) fuse after they see Stevonnie, Garnet, and Opal form, forming Lemon Jade and subsequently being poofed by Yellow Diamond.
All Jade-type Gems have been voiced in the show by Aparna Nancherla.
Caste Position
The Jades appear to be high up in Gem society, being one of the few Gem types to attend the Era 3 ball. They are the common aristocrat, but rank lower than Sapphires. their roles are to attend and dance at the ball. They come in different colors (racism) and shapes (body shaping gems is bad) is because they all come out wrong, but they needed dancing gems, so they didn't shatter them. according to white diamond, they are junk version of emeralds.
Appearance
The Jades appear in two different variations in color and forms: non-greenish. and greenish. These variations not only seem to have very different colors but also appearances.
Non-green Jades[1]
The main feature in these Jades is their color, due to it not being the well-known green of usual jades, pink diamond jades turn out to be so ugly and should've been shattered when they emerged. They appear in purple, orange, magenta, grayish-blue, periwinkle, grayish-purple, lavender, hot pink and salmon. They're main purpuse is to dance during balls. since pink is gone ('she's GOOOOOOOOOOOONE!), they according to morganite, they have been under here authority and were forced to remove theyre dresses and dance naked for her and the other morganite. According to a morganite, they were not hot, it's bad quality striptease!

Trivia
- Jades are divided in two types that correspond to the distinction in color/quality they can be found as.
- Most valuable jades are green or slightly yellowish
- Other lower colors include purple, lavender, white, grey, orange and red.
- The mechanical appearance of lower jades seem to have been created as a metaphor for how the Gem Homeworld is uptight, strict and everyone is require to be as precise and perfect as a clock mechanism.
- They are, along with the Nephrites, voiced by Aparna Nancherla. This is due to the fact that in real life Jade is two different minerals: nephrite and jadeite, the second one presumably being this variation.
