Jasmin Lai is an Asian-American visual development artist who is an art and effect colorist director for Steven Universe. She enjoys using textures, geometric shapes, and a limited color palette with pops of color to create striking and detailed illustrations with a strong narrative. She has been working on the show as a background painter since the start of Season 1, as well as working as an art director since Season 2. She won a 2014 Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Individual in Animation.
