Lars is only more annoyed when they arrive on the island, since they live on a beach, which makes the location nothing special to see. Steven tells Lars that he was on the island to look for a Corrupted Gem, leading him to look for the exit. According to Lars, "if I'm going to be bored out of my mind, and possibly die, I'm gonna go to work, and get paid for it".
