Template:Malachite "Malachite" is the fusion of Jasper and Lapis Lazuli who made her debut in "Jail Break".

Appearance

Malachite is a tall fusion, possessing four legs (which are actually arms, but instead function as legs), and two regular arms. She has four eyes and pointed teeth. Her hair is a light mint green color, and is styled in the shape of a star (the Crystal Gems' symbol), similarly to Lion and Alexandrite, while her skin is light green with dark green stripes, with a pattern similar to Jasper's. She has two torsos joined together like a centaur. Her upper torso and arms are longer and more slender, while her lower torso and lower four limbs are more muscular. The upper half of her outfit is dark green and black, resembling Lapis Lazuli's top at the front, but solid at the back, with no ribbon, while the lower half resembles a one-piece swimsuit, and is mostly black with a green V and yellow diamond symbol at the front resembling Jasper's top. One of her gemstones is located on her nose like Jasper's, the precise location of her other gemstone is unknown, but it is assumed to be located somewhere on her back like Lapis Lazuli's.

Personality

Due to being a fusion, Malachite's personality is, in theory, a twisted combination of aspects of both Jasper and Lapis' character traits. However, as she is an unstable, and potentially forced fusion, we have only seen her act as if both gems have independent control over her body. In the beginning, she was shown as having Jasper's disdain for the Crystal Gems and wishing to see them destroyed, but Lapis' consciousness was later shown to be the most dominant as she was able to overpower Jasper's.

Abilities

Like all Gems, Malachite can shape-shift, summon a weapon, and retreat to her gemstone(s).

Unique Abilities

  • Hydrokinesis: Malachite possesses Lapis Lazuli's hydrokinesis.

  • Malachite is the third largest fusion so far, right behind Alexandrite and Sugilite.

  • Malachite's imprisonment may mean that unstable fusions are able to stay together, if one of the members does not wish to separate.
