Hello! So while I'm uploading the screenshots for the last four episodes, I came across a problem when I tried to upload the title card for "The Future". When uploading, there's a text that reads "This page has been protected from editing, because it is included in the following page, which is protected with the "cascading" option turned on: Steven Universe Wiki". Since only administrators, bureaucrats, and content moderators are allow to edit the Home page, is there anything you can do so I can upload "The Future" title card for both the Home page and the episode gallery?
Don't have a better title and I don't know if this is worth reporting but I was looking at the Female category and I noticed User Pastelcupcake11 had this category on her page despite it being for the fictional characters. I know I'm not supposed to edit others' userpages and she hasn't made an edit since February 2nd so I doubt she's active on this site so I can't ask her to remove it so I was wondering if I had to report this to a mod or something to get it removed.
I mean it supposed to be released on the 23rd anyway with the Movie sing-along but due to COVID, the event was cancelled and it was put up through the app instead (also we added the plot and other stuff to the "Homeworld Bound" page anyway so might as well add it as the latest episode because it was officially released by CN)
Well, that makes sense I guess, whatever the admins decide is fine with me. Still, just consider whether or not an early-released episode on the app or an episode officially aired on TV is more valid to be called "Latest Episode".
Just looking through you Message Wall here I can see that you have a lot deal with between bad-faith actors, sockpuppet users, and general trolls. Steven Universe is a show about controversial (to some) ideas and it expresses them with a deep sincerity that isn't hard for cynics to mock. In short, I gather this site is a magnet for troublemakers looking to disrupt the Wiki's purpose, but despite this I still found your and the other Admins' decision to lock the pages troubling. I left a response on the announcement you made and summarized it below, but I hope you'll be open to further discussion on ways to make this work for you and everyone.
"I get that you're processing this change and you want to make efforts to preserve the good that's been done, but the answer is not to build a tomb and seal the exits. Speaking as an Admin for a Wiki chronicling a series that no longer puts out new content, I'm aghast at how unfathomably short-sighted y'all are being.
Do you honestly believe this community has nothing more to contribute? More details can be added to these pages, new interpretation can be offered for characters, more content can be contributed from editors. And you're not considering on how Sugar may continue the series in the distant future. Is now the best time to make such a major decision?
Vandals ARE a concern, I grant you that, but the answer is not to turn off the community. That's what you're doing when you end editing for all the pages; you turn this into a gallery that no one can contribute to, just glance at. You have to cultivate a successive group of Admins who'll help take up the slack, undo bad-faith edits, and encourage the good-faith ones. This isn't an easy task, I know. I come from the BioShock Wiki (a game series which dissects politics, philosophy, etc.) and when you discuss anything with challenging content you occasionally encounter people with an agenda, but far, FAR more often you get the people that just want to be a part of this.
But putting the Wiki in lockdown you're saying, "I'm sorry, you missed the boat to be a part of Steven Universe, sucks to be you. Enjoy the museum." Please reconsider or else you're just showing to the fanbase how little you trust them."
FH0447 is yet ANOTHER sockpuppet of the user I told you about before, especially with his Locationnav edit and this thread about Pink Diamond that sounds very similar to his previous rants about wanting to add Steven as her son.
