m (We have no real proof Watermelon Tourmaline is a fusion other than multiple sets of arms (I mean she could just be defective and was created with 3/4 arms))
(hence her being listed under unconfirmed)

Permafusion (a portmanteau of "permanent fusion") is the name given to the act of two or more Gems remaining fused for an extended period of time. A Gem fusion who engages in permafusion is also called such.

The term was coined by Peridot in "Too Far" to describe Garnet.

Known Permafusions

Possible (Unconfirmed) Permafusions

  • Chamber Guard Topaz
    • Likely a permafusion similarly to the main Topaz.
    • Guards Yellow Diamond's bubble chamber.
  • An unnamed Quartz
  • Watermelon Tourmaline
    • Appears to consist of two Tourmalines.
    • A citizen of Little Homeworld
    • Out of all the real-world varieties of Tourmaline, she is likely composed of a Rubellite (red Tourmaline) and a Verdelite (green Tourmaline).
    • Her status as a fusion, while unconfirmed, is the most likely conclusion, as singular gems with extra arms have, thus far, shown no signs of existing.
