"Room for Ruby" is the 20th episode of the fourth season of Steven Universe and the 123rd episode overall.

Plot
One night at Steven's house, Steven and Garnet gaze upon the beautiful night sky, in which Steven notices a shooting star. Steven wants Garnet to make a wish, so he asks her to close her eyes, all three of them. Garnet makes her wish and even though Steven said not to tell him, Steven asks her to tell him. Garnet tells him that she wished for another shooting star so that Steven can make a wish too. Steven finds what he thinks is another shooting star, but notices that it is screaming and it crashes into the beach.
When Steven and Garnet went to check it out, they discover that it wasn't a shooting star, but instead, it was Navy, one of the Rubies that the Gems had sent hurtling through space in one of the previous episodes. Navy had managed to re-enter the Earth's atmosphere and crash land in front of Steven's house. Once she regains consciousness, Navy pounces towards Steven and Garnet, thinking she's going to attack, but instead, she begs them to let her stay on Earth with them. Steven and Garnet are curious to why she would want that, especially after their previous interactions, to which she replies that none of the other Rubies would let her be herself, but when she's on Earth, she's free. Garnet doesn't believe that this is such a good idea and reminds Steven that a Ruby almost stabbed him the time he was hurtling through space, to which he reminded her that it was Eyeball who did that, but Navy was the nicest of the Rubies. He also reminds her of the story she told him when Ruby fell from the sky and discovered the beauty of the Earth, which makes Garnet blush, and thus, she gives Steven permission to work his magic.
The next morning, Steven visits the barn, where he sees Peridot, Lapis Lazuli and Pumpkin sitting on the tractor out on the farm, looking for shooting stars to wish on, but the only star they can find is the Sun. Steven greets them and they greet him, and afterwards, he introduces them to Navy, to which Peridot asks when she fell to Earth, to which Navy replies that she had just fallen today. Peridot rejoices and declares her a new barn roommate, or "Barnie" as she calls it, but Lapis isn't quite so keen on the idea, especially because of their history with the Rubies. Steven informs them that they wanted to start a new life on Earth, and if they can, then so could Navy. Lapis reminds him that life on Earth won't be easy to adjust to, she still isn't use to it herself, to which Peridot replies that they can show Navy what they've learned so far, to which, Lapis reluctantly agrees, as long as they take it slow.
Later in the day, Peridot and Lapis start teaching Navy the basics about being an Earthling. Peridot teaches Navy her first lesson, which is not even knowing what it means to be an Earthling, because nothing seems to make sense, which is why she has them to help her. Lapis informs Navy that it might be hard to like Earth at first, because a long time ago, bad things happened there, but she doesn't mind because Earth is so sunny. They let her know it isn't always sunny, because Earth has weather, like rain. Navy doesn't know what rain is, so Lapis, using her powers, takes the water from their pool and uses it to poor raindrops over them. Lapis thinks she might find it strange, but Navy believes the sky is crying and takes a liking to it, and she understands that a planet that's always changing can be so beautiful. Steven and Peridot are amazed to see that she has a full understanding of an Earth routine so fast, but Lapis silently grows jealous because Navy managed to learn in less than two minutes what took her a long time to learn.
They all then go into the barn, where Peridot offers Navy a corner of the barn as her living space, which excites her, and Steven insists that she looks around and get to know the place. She then acknowledges their hammock, which they explain to her that it's a bed you fall out of. Lapis informs her that people sleep in it, and that even though she doesn't need to, she likes to sleep anyway, and Peridot informs them that Lapis snores, which embarrasses her. Navy wants to tryout sleeping herself, which Lapis informs her that it may take a while, she needs to close her eyes and think of either everything or nothing, and before she can even finish her sentence, Navy had already fallen fast asleep, which turns Lapis' silent jealousy into silent anger.
They then all return to the farm, where Peridot and Lapis introduce Navy to plant life, their planting system, and the crops they've grown. Lapis informs Navy that plants can be confusing at first and that she doesn't have to love everything right away, but low and behold, she instantly loves plants. Lapis grows more annoyed and asks if Navy loves Pumpkin as well, to which Navy replied that she does love Pumpkin, which makes Pumpkin happily lick Navy's face. Steven and Peridot are delighted to see her get along with Pumpkin, but Lapis, growing more irritated by the minute, asks if she likes dirt. Once Navy finds out what dirt is, she instantly loves it, enough to roll around in it, along with Steven and Peridot. Finally, Lapis ask her if she also loves her, Steven and Peridot, to which Navy replies that she loves them and thanks them for taking her in. Lapis, reaching her boiling point, reminds her that they were just enemies and asks why she doesn't get mad, to which Navy tells her that she couldn't get mad even if she tried. Lapis then furiously flys away, leaving Navy to wonder if she had done something wrong, prompting Steven, Peridot and Pumpkin to follow her and find out what's wrong.
They find Lapis sitting on the truck on the barn, she confesses to them that the reason she's upset is because it took a long time for her to learn to like Earth, where it only took Navy one day to learn. Lapis begins to doubt herself when she points out that Navy has no fear, no guard and how it's so easy for her to just love everything and everyone right away when it was so hard for her. Navy overhears their conversation and thinks it'd be best if she just left. Steven and Peridot beg her to stay, and Lapis apologizes for making her think she didn't belong. Navy is relieved and informs them that she wouldn't know where to go anyway, and that without the Roaming Eye, she couldn't go anywhere, and that it's the only place she's ever belonged. She misses it so much that she starts crying. Steven informs Navy that the Roaming Eye is on the farm, she just didn't recognize it with Lapis and Peridot's decorations surrounding it, and Steven graciously offers to let her pilot it and show them how it works.
They all fly through the sky in the Roaming Eye, where Steven is excited to think that the Crystal Gems now have a pilot. They appear happy, including Lapis, who now is showing a level of trust towards Navy. Navy then asks Steven to push the seemingly harmless button at the back of the ship, and Steven, without even the slightest suspicion, presses the button, which turns out to be the button that opens the hanger door. Steven, Lapis, Peridot and Pumpkin grab on to the hanger door for dear life, while Navy sets up a force field around the captains chair to keep her from flying out as well. Navy then reveals that she never wanted to live on Earth or be friends with them, it was just a ploy to get close enough to the Roaming Eye and steal it back. Steven points out that she could've just stole it to begin with, to which Navy replies that if she did it that way, she wouldn't be able to see the looks on their faces when she betrayed them. Lapis is devastated at her for stabbing them in the back, while Peridot can't hear a word Navy says, and believes she's simply trying to show them the ocean in an extreme fashion. Lapis furiously tries to climb back into the ship to give Navy a well deserved pummeling, but before she can, Navy shakes them loose and flys off in the ship as Steven, Lapis, Peridot and Pumpkin fall into the ocean below.
As they resurface, Steven lets Lapis know that Navy is getting away, but all Lapis can do is laugh for being right about no one being able to be that well adjusted, and as she laughs some more, Navy hits the turbo boosters on the Roaming Eye, and she takes off into space. Steven, Lapis, Peridot and Pumpkin walk back to shore, soaking wet, as Lapis finishes laughing, where they run into Garnet, who has a balloon that says "Welcome to the Party" in one hand, and balloon that says "Sorry for your Loss" in the other, because with her future vision, she saw two different realities--one where Navy had decided to live on Earth and one where Navy betrayed them and took off. She pops the the party balloon because of Navy's betrayal and lets them know that it was worth a shot. The episode ends with all of them looking up into the sky, and Garnet sees Navy's smug little face laughing.

Errors
- Peridot sits in one of the chairs in the Roaming Eye ship, where behind her is a window. However, when the scene changes to a front view, the hatch door is shown behind Peridot.
- When Steven and Peridot are looking for Lapis, the barn is shown from a far distance, but the Roaming Eye is missing, despite being seen earlier on from the same distance.
- When Pumpkin licks Navy, its tongue is the wrong shade of orange.
- When Pumpkin licks Navy, there is no clothing around Navy's neck, making it look like she isn't wearing her top.
- When Peridot says "I love talking!" her waist is completely black, when it should be green where her legs end.
