San Diego Comic-Con

Originally titled the Golden State Comic Book Convention in 1970, San Diego Comic-Con has grown to become one of the largest multi-genre conventions.

SDCC has hosted official Cartoon Network events since the late 1990s.

SDCC and Steven Universe

San Diego Comic-Con has hosted official Steven Universe panels since 2013.

2013

• There was a Cartoon Network panel held Friday, July 19, 2013. The panel was about Uncle Grandpa, Steven Universe, and Clarence, attended by Rebecca Sugar and Ian Jones-Quartey.

2014

• The panel was held on Friday, July 25, 2014 and attended by Tom Scharpling (who also acted as the moderator), Zach Callison, Michaela Dietz, Estelle, Deedee Magno-Hall, Jeff Liu, Rebecca Sugar, and Ian Jones-Quartey.
• The panel opened with an in-character skit.
• Season 2 was announced, and both seasons were confirmed to be 52 episodes long.
  • However, Cartoon Network later decided to split future seasons in two, with each later season having 26 episodes instead of 52.
• A clip from Coach Steven was shown, revealing Sugilite and announcing Nicki Minaj as her voice actor.

2015

• The 2015 panel was held on Friday, July 10, 2015. It was a combined Adventure Time & Steven Universe panel and was attended by Rebecca Sugar, Zach Callison, Estelle, and Ian Jones-Quartey (as well as Jeremy Shada, John DiMaggio, Olivia Olson, and Adam Muto of Adventure Time.)
• Season 3 was announced.
• Clips:
  • A clip from "Cry for Help" revealing Sardonyx.
  • A clip with the full extended version of the theme song, as well as showing a young Steven moving in with the Crystal Gems at the newly constructed Beach House and revealing the silhouette of Yellow Diamond.

2016

• The 2016 panel was held on Friday, July 22, 2016. It was attended by Rebecca Sugar, Zach Callison, Estelle, Deedee Magno-Hall, and Michaela Dietz. Others who attended and composed the music were Jeff Ball, Ben Levin, and Jeff Liu.
• Bismuth was revealed.
• Yellow Diamond was revealed to have an upcoming musical number featuring her Pearl.
• The cast performed "Don't Cost Nothing", "Mr. Greg", "It's Over Isn't It", "Both of You", "On the Run", "Tower of Mistakes", "Stronger Than You", "Love Like You", and "We Are the Crystal Gems". They then proceeded to the Q&A. 
• A preview of "Here Comes a Thought" was sung by Rebecca Sugar. 

2017

• The 2017 panel was held on Friday, July 21, 2017. It was attended by Rebecca Sugar, Zach Callison, Estelle, Deedee Magno-Hall, Michaela Dietz, and AJ Michalka.
• Zach Callison hosted the panel.
• AJ Michalka and Estelle performed "Here Comes a Thought".
• A trailer for Season 5 and a preview from the upcoming episode "Lars of the Stars" were shown.
  • The preview revealed Lars and the Off Colors to have stolen a ship (the "Sun Incinerator") from a never-before-seen Gem named Emerald.
• The official trailer for Save the Light was revealed, also revealing a boss and Homeworld Gem – a Peridot nicknamed "Squaridot" for her square hair.

2018

• The 2018 panel was held on Saturday, July 21, 2018, from 10AM until 10:50AM (PST) in the Indigo Ballroom at Hilton San Diego Bayfront.
• Shelby Rabara hosted the panel.
• "Legs From Here to Homeworld" was shown in full.
• Steven Universe: The Movie was announced.

2019

• The 2019 panel was held in Ballroom 20 on Friday, July 19, at 1:00-2:00 PM (PST).
• Shelby Rabara hosted the panel.
• It was attended by Estelle, Michaela Dietz, Deedee Magno-Hall, and Rebecca Sugar.
• The official trailer for Steven Universe: The Movie was shown.
