The "Shooting Star" is an artifact that first appeared in "Monster Buddies". It is seen again in "Winter Forecast" as a tool that the Crystal Gems attempted to destroy the Galaxy Warp with.
Appearance
The Shooting Star is a palm-sized, spiky cluster of pink and blue crystals partially encased in a chunk of ice-like crystal. The Crystal Gems retrieved it from a shallow well.
Abilities
Pearl states that the Shooting Star is so hot that "bare skin cannot endure its intensity"; even Garnet, who can swim in lava and control electricity, is unable to hold the star without her gauntlets.
When even slight pressure is applied to the Shooting Star, it detonates, causing enough damage to destroy the entire Crystal Temple in an alternate future in "Winter Forecast".
