The Great North is a location that first appeared in "Gem Hunt". Connie, along with Pearl and Steven, goes on her first official Gem mission here.
Description[]
The Great North is a large snowy wilderness with trees. Behind its warp pad is a giant Wailing Stone, while the rest of the landscape is a typical snowy wilderness. The snow is several feet deep in places and inhabits a small abundance of wildlife due to the freezing temperatures in the location. Several mountains are shown surrounding the area.
History[]
"Gem Hunt"[]
Pearl, Steven, and Connie travel to the Great North to poof and bubble a Corrupted Gem after Garnet sensed activity in the area. However, contrary to previous belief, the group finds a second Corrupted Gem as well. Jasper ends up capturing both of the monsters before the group can, and leaves.
"Crack the Whip"[]
Garnet and Pearl travel here off-screen to search for Jasper, unsuccessfully, since she had already left to attack the Crystal Gems.
"Growing Pains"[]
Steven sees the corrupted Ocean Jasper attacking him in his flashback.
Trivia[]
- The Great North is Steven Universe's in-canon counterpart to Canada, and as its name implies, it is located north of the United States, and encompasses almost the entire upper half of the North American continent.
- The Great North's flag, which is a version of the Canadian flag (green instead of red), is held by Peridot in the episode In Dreams.
