== Trivia ==

* Several concepts and ideas from the show are revealed, other facts are revealed such as;<ref>[http://annadesu.tumblr.com/tagged/steven-universe-podcast "Steven Universe Podcast Highlights"] – annadesu on Tumblr</ref>

**Steven’s world is a mish-mash of all the things Rebecca/Steven grew up liking together. Their home life, video games, shows they liked, books they read, etc. Once the crew got bigger, she asked them for personal elements to add into the show, too.

**The Goddess Ishtar was a huge influence on the imagery in the show.

**The Gem Language does exist in the show, however Steven doesn’t know it right now. Rebecca has stated that there will be an episode where Steven learns to read/write it in the future.

**Rebecca notices when people get theories right, but doesn’t say when. She loved seeing people figure out that Garnet was a fusion, and was the one who drew in the Ruby/Sapphire’s silhouette in "Fusion Cuisine".

**"Steven Reacts to Crying Breakfast Friends" was based off a fan reaction video of someone freaking out over Jailbreak and Garnet being a fusion.

**"Last One Out of Beach City" was named after a song, but Rebecca didn’t realize until later that people would take the title as being ominous.

**Rebecca Sugar really likes Betty Boop, and references it in "Adventures in Light Distortion" when everyone is shrinking and growing.

**Deedee knew that Pearl was “maternal” from her original character description, and was excited about that because she has two kids of her own and could relate to it.

**Michaela thought Amethyst was comedy relief at first, but once she was told to “tone it down” and be more “chill” in the booth, that changed. Amethyst has developed so much over the course of the show, and experienced so many different layers of emotion, Michaela is very proud to voice her.

**Deedee started out more calm, but over time her voice and lines became “bigger” to match Pearl’s emotions and personality.

**The first time they did a scene with Yellow Pearl, Deedee was told she was a lot more like a secretary than CG Pearl. Blue Pearl is a lot more quiet, and fragile. They wanted them to contrast to each other.

**In the pilot, Pearl wasn’t particularly maternal. Deedee was very maternal, and that influenced Pearl’s character development in the final show. Michaela’s personality has very much influenced Amethyst, as well. Estelle and Zach have influenced their characters even more so. Steven’s maturity over time, and emotional intelligence, is taken a lot from Zach.

**The Roaming Eye emits a black hole, and the gravity cancels itself out, which propels the ship. A fan figured out the science of it online, and everyone got really excited about it when they did.

**There’s no throw-away characters in SU. Everyone comes back at some point.

**Gem structures have a lot of geometry, simple shapes, and patterns. They are deliberately different from man-made things. Not as organic, or human. The colors are more "magical".

** "House Guest" had completely redone Steven’s house and Beach City got an upgrade. Season 1A and 1B show the different look that both have.

**Each character has their own “instrument”. Since Rose isn’t actually present, they rely heavily on string music to represent that she is there in spirit.

**As the show gets more “mature” overtime, the music changes with it. You have certain sounds for characters, but you have to keep pushing them forward just like the characters are being pushed.

**Each character is represented by specific instruments. Garnet, Amethyst, Pearl, and Steven’s instruments together form a sort of Jazz quartet.
