  • They missunderstod barbara as a boy. She doesn't have so much feminine traits, ok

But somehow they mistaken RAINBOW QUARTZ as a man

seriously, it's a shame to say i'm brazillian. WHO LOOKED AT RAINBOW QARTZ AND SAID "That's clearly a man"???

anyhows, I just wanted to know the opnions of non-brazillians about this. And, to be honest, the only reason i'm here is because i rather wach in englis than in my native lenguage. Shame on you, Flavia Fontinelle (Dubbing director) . Shame on you.

"UM arco íris quartz" they did

    • They did "Isso foi um Arco-Íris Quartz", refering to amount.

Yeah but they could've said "Uma". Plus, they said "OS gems" so anyway they still wrong in some way

      True.

    • If they mistakened Barbra for a man, I could kind of understand that. But Rainbow Quartz? Like really?

Other than them being absolutely blind, they could've of just been cheap and not have hired a girl voice actor.

Either ways, they are bad at their job.

    • Sadness is when a dub doesn't take Steven Universe seriously.

SERIOUSLY, THEY MADE RQ A MALE?

      I am...disappointed in Brazil.

      Agreed

    • They mistaken RQ for a guy? That would be impossible, I know gems are genderless but how honeslty.

      Acordado

I am Brazilian and I am also disappointed with my country

    • Again... They said "a Rainbow Quartz" hinting that there's multiple of the same gem, that was already confirmed anyway.

    • "Um" is the default pronoun, being male or don't, when refering to amount. Rainbow Quartz was never said to be male. Please, don't say thing you don't understand. Hiring V.As is expensive, they just used the same V.A for another character (Barbara) because she had a very short role.

Yeah, but why the heck they said "Os gems"? And why they didn't use "Uma" instead?

Maybe Rose refers to the type of Gem, that is why she said "Um arco-íris quartzo" instead "Uma arco-íris quartzo"

But in the Dub KeepingItTogether they kept ruby's name in english for the same reason, why they translated rainbow quartz? Also, why just half of the name is dubbed?(Rose still said "Quartz")

    • I'm a bit confused.

      1. Did they actually SAY that RQ was male?

      2. Does RQ have a male voice actor?

I think it's because of "Rainbow", perhaps they preferred to leave that part translated to Brazilian fans understood
