  • Not the amythest we know of course, but a non "defective" one. You know the gem that everyone assumes is Jasper during Pearl's Sworn to Sword flashback? The one with the axe? We can point out similarities to CG Amethyst and Jasper, and Peridot says that Amethysts are usually big like Japser and Rose. The axe that Garnet and Amethyst picked up was purple. Maybe it's more like that Rose was fighting what an ideal Amethyst looks like instead. Just a thought. What do you think?

    • I agree that it was probably an amethyst soldier in the hologram. Pearl is very detailed with her holograms so if it was meant to be Jasper, I think she would have added markings.

    • Hmm. I'm pretty sure Amethyst... is a number.

    • say what?

    • I think that the Gem in the hologram was an Amethyst fusion. A whole bunch of Amethysts in it

    • I support that it was indeed Amethyst as well.

is that what you would like or is there some evidence to support a theory?

    • Well, for my evidence:

When Peridot talks to Amethyst in the Kindergarten about how she was supposed to be much larger, she, using her hands, gives an example of how tall she is supposed to be. The size was about Jasper's size. The gigantic muscular, axe wielding Gem in "Sworn to the Sword" is defiantly not the same size.. She could be a fusion of multiple correct Amethysts.

Also, I have a head cannon that when a Gem fused with a Gem with the same type of Gemstone (Ex. Ruby fusing with a Ruby/ Pearl fusing with a Pearl) their fusion won't have multiple limbs due to the fact that they are the same Gemstone.

    • The hologram gem was about the same size as Rose, as is Jasper.

    • Um, that thing was massive! That was atleast the size of Alexandrite.

Pause between 128 and 129 wheen both rose and the alleged amethyst are both on screen at the same time. It's not much bigger than Rose. When it strikes downwards with its axe, it looks bigger but I think that was just a dramatic perspective. Could be wrong though.

    • The flat image garnet presents provides a less trippy subjective, artist view of the situation. If you watch, it shows an arm at least twice the size of roses. I'd say the fusion is a bit taller than opal, but not too much. But it also somewhat supports this theory, as, among the multitude of methods to kill Pearl, she uses a flail. Pretty subtle hints to a fusion of amethyst(sarcasm). It also shows lightning blasts and an axe, but the axe was probably not a summoned weapon if it is the same as the one we see in Roses scabbard, and its size also purports that this amethyst fusion is huge.

    • can you show me the image garnet presents?

    • It's a tiny video. I will find url or something like that. If you watch the episode and go 2/3 through episode garnet talks about Pearl dies. Il go find url and time section.

    • yup i seen it. could be a fusion

    • Just what I was thinking. It could just be a ginormous gem, like yellow diamond size, but I think it's more reasonable to assume it's a gem fusion of an amethyst with someone who utilizes some type of spiky ball and electro genesis. Or possibly with Amethysts supposed to have electro genesis. IDK.

    • We don't know it was the same gem attacking pearl in that animation. The Guide to the CG states that gems of the same type usually fuse together. So it could just be a super amethyst of some kind

        Loading editor
    • But it could be a fusion of an amethyst with another amethyst. Maybe another amethyst had a fancy shot put weapon and electro genesis to help use it, another amethyst had a spiky whip, some spontaneous music played, and they turned into a giant axe wielding maniac intent on repeatedly killing Pearl.

    • maybe. I'm down for the amethystxamethyst fusion though.

    • Definitely. It'd be interesting.

They might have used an artificial tool, like something similar to a Gem Disabler, to cast electricity out of it.

    • True, but they were already carrying an axe the size of them, and were summoning a flail before that. I don't think they had apenough arms to comfortably carry all that gear.

    • Well, the Gem shown in Pearl's hologram could've been very different from the Gem that Garnet shows.

        Loading editor
    • That is very true. It can just be two gems who look just like each other and wear the same gear and interacted with Rose and Pearl in a similar way. I'm sure their were lots of warrior gem fusions: it's a war. So that's very possible. But at least one giant Amethyst fusion was probably there.

Wait... what if the war was the Last Great Time War?
