(Those Poor Guys Are Happy Again) :)

    • That is one way to handle the cluster. Yup they have plenty of people to talk to now thanks to Steven. I am better a number of those shards belong to former members of the Crystal Gems and know how to bubble.

When Steven told Peridot, "I love you", you can't deny that was cute. I imagine a lot of Stevidot shippers squeeled with joy at that moment, even if he didn't mean it romantically.

    • If Steven's last words would be anything, yeah, they'd be those to whomever he was with. That was such a sweet moment, especially when you consider that it's immensely likely Peridot's never had anyone say those words to her since she 'started existing'. And yeah, I do hope we get more Jasper. And if I'm not mistaken, Watermelon!Steven did reach out and even try to call her name as she fell. I bet she'll turn up at some point soon though. Oh child of the sea

      Oh Lapis Lazuli

You were asleep for many a night

      As you rest tonight

You twitch, you hear Steven whimper “Lapis, no”

In his sleep and suddenly your heart grows heavy

You hate that you made him worry

You fear you not only made things worse for him but

You may never be trusted by his loved ones

Put thine heart at ease oh child of the sea

Put thine hear at ease oh Lapis Lazuli

      Someday, you’ll understand

What it means to be one of them

You’ll understand you’re part of this band of misfits

This family, yes this family is where you’re meant to be

      Not in that crude mirror

      Or on an unloving planet

Nor at the bottom of the cold lonely sea

No, you’ve always been destined to be

      Part of this family

At first you’ll only see in Garnet

Coldness, anger, you won’t understand her at first

But, over time you’ll understand that

In that coldness is a desire to protect

In that anger is love that is bigger than the world!

You’ll find over time that you respect her

Even when you don’t always get her

She’s the mother of the group

Pearl, you’ll find she often goes too far

She has done some genuinely dumb things

Don’t get me started on that one time when Peridot was still bad

      And you were far away

We’ll forgive but we’ll never forget that

      She truly grew that day

But you’ll see that even though she goes too far

Even though she doesn’t always think about the consequences

She goes too far to show how much she cares or

How much pain she feels inside

Pearl did that thing because she missed the love she got

It still pains her that Rose is gone

These little imperfections you’ll overtime find make her

The most wonderful Pearl of all!

      She’s the older sister

      Amethyst, you’ll find

Is loud, doesn’t seem to take too much seriously,

She’s reckless at times, ok most of the time

      She also gets carried away

But you’ll see that under her carefree attitude is a lot of pain

      Pain she buries deep within

Guilt that she was made to destroy the planet

      Anger towards her origins

Sadness over how Rose is gone now which also means lots of

Loneliness, she feels non understand her emotions

Steven helps but even he can’t heal everything

She’s grown so much this past year

Amethyst has truly grown; she no longer lashes out in anger

She’s no longer afraid to talk about her feelings

Overtime you’ll find that Amethyst is

The best big sister to Peridot and Steven she can be

      She’s your younger sister

There to make everyone look on the bright side of things

Steven, he’s still naïve at times, he’s but a child and thus

Doesn’t know much about the world

He’s silly, used to be so reckless, if we had a penny for every time

He almost got hurt or killed; we’d have at least fifty, maybe more

Steven has grown so much, he’ll show you

This is where you’re meant to be

      Over time you’ll see

He’s the best little brother, in Peridot’s case big brother, in the universe!

Steven’s your little brother now, take care of him by

Never again making him scared so that means for you

      No more pointless sacrifices!

      Peridot you’ll find

      Can be a little egotistical

She isn’t very tactful, it was worse before… trust me it was

      She’s not the strongest

Despite being so smart she still has a lot to learn

      She cannot use her powers

But every day she gets a little bit better

Every day the gems are showing her how to be strong

      In the real way

One day she’ll be able to tear down even Quartz gems but until then

She’s still young, give her time

Overtime you’ll find that even though she claims not to

She does get emotional when it comes to things she loves

Peridot’s your little sister now, see you fit right in

As days become weeks, weeks become months, you’ll finally see

You are finally where you’re meant to be!

You’ll finally see we are family

    • This was a great episode, I was so intense. I loved getting some more character from Peridot, for sort of saying she loves Steven, to trying to come to grips with her feelings for Homeworld. Maybe I am jumping the gun here, but to all the Peridot shippers out there, I think perhaps she has someone she close to, a love interest back on Homeworld, maybe I am jumping the gun. It shows people form Homeworld are capable of having feelings, it is like the Fire Nation in A:TLA, it is not Homeworld that is evil, it is the leadership that sucks. If we get them some new leadership perhaps Pink Diamond, and the world will be much better.

The Steven plays tunes why they gave it away in the commercials, because that is hilarious, and Peridot is getting used to music. and Peridot explaining out of the plot hole of how they were going to fit everybody hilarious.

But this episode was mostly dark, when Steven kept getting these headaches, I thought maybe Rose Quartz was finally going to communicate with him and give him some advice. Perhaps that will have to wait for another day.

So Steven convinces the Cluster to bubble it self, brilliant way to wrap this up, I thought all along the Cluster would be subdued by the end of this episode, but not completely eliminated, it can still comeback. I predict it will comeback some day, maybe it will eat the Diamond authority, I think the final boss for this series is going to be a fusion between Yellow, Blue, and White Diamond. Perhaps the Cluster is the only thing that can take care of them.

And the Crystal Gems comeback with Lapis in hand, I don't know what they plan to do with her, the old Crystal Gem they would bubble her, but I think the experience with Peridot may have changed to be less dismissive of outsiders and especially Homeworld Gems. I also think those feelings Peridot was talking about, those mixed feelings about Homeworld, I think Lapis has those same feelings, so they could bond over that, but that is for another day.

They probably found another Warp-Pad, it took Peridot and Steven 2 Hours to Drill + time to bubble the cluster so I'd say roughly 3 Hours, I'd guess they could find a Warp Pad in the that time and what's to say that Lapis briefly gained conscious and helped them find one quicker and since she just came out of a fusion after helping she had to rest again... Maybe?

    • And thus, a hiatus is at its end, and a new age of Steven begins! And *phew!*, what a rush! First a literal Clash of the TItans-then-Shadow-of-the-Colossus battle, then a surprisingly powerful episode that gave us some new insight into the Cluster Gem experiments and their psyches.

With this two-parter, two major elephants in the room are eliminated. Now only two more remain as a result, Lapis's fate as a now non-fused Gem, and Jasper since, well, she ended up plummeting into a crack in the Earth during the shaking of Mask Island.

But I get the feeling they'll get to her soon enough, as soon as the Lapis elephant is put down. As for what happens after...who knows? That's for Sugar to decide. To which I don't mind considering we have not one, not two, but three months after this to get through that question.

Not only that, but Peridot's defection could cause other sections to rebel if it ever got out. Not saying it HAS, but let's just say it's no big secret that the Diamonds won't take it lying down. The Earth protection priority just got a LOT more complicated.

Like they teleport small bubbles into the Temple? Eh? Whee! Lets place the temple heart somewere in open Space.. and teleport the huge Cluster Bubble near there... were it can reform without harming earth. (And maybe take a more logical form with the Gem Shards now talking to each other).

Yeah, former Peridot was a complete jerk. The new her is amazing. She admits she's happy on Earth, implies she loves Steven, says shes actually friends with The Crystal Gems, and made sure Steven was okay when he had a panic attack and passed out. She really does care. She wanted to save the Earth for real and felt sorry that she dragged Steven in to that mess when she thought it was gonna form.

    • Personally, i think this epsiode had its high points, and well, its low points.

I would enjoy both episodes more if there werent so many spoliers. I mean Super Watermelon Island was completly leaked by both CN and Rebecca. And I feel like the way of "destroying" the cluster would be a llitle bit more..exciting. Bubbling the cluster is a boring way to keep it stable, and it makes no sense how Steven even talked to it. And it also makes no sense how Steven dreamed his way into a watermelon. The art is also a bit childish at times, such as when Malachite was split apart, and when she was punched in the stomach by Alexandite. And why does no one give a crap that Jasper is missing.

      BYE  BYE JASPER REDEMPTION.

The episode was also pretty okay when it came to all the relationships that are forming. Peridot really changed, even though only two episodes before she was contacting Yellow D. Most of the art was really adorable. Also the fight scene was nice, even though it was leaked a few weeks before.

This is my opinion, dont hate :)

They LOVE eachother, not romantically of course (and hopefully not the...BAD way). And isnt that why we ship? Because we think two characters that care can make a cute couple?

it's not over yet for Jasper, she wil definitely be back, but honestly the cluster thing I agree, it would've been interesting if he had to destroy it, I hope this doesn't happen all the time, please give us at least one irredeemable psycho, not Jasper, but definitely someone who can't be saved, this is why I felt both episodes were decent but not spectacular, please give us a figurative monster.

I personally wouldn't want to help her or peridot or lapis, but he's Steven, they should be thankful it was him that they ran into, I think it's safe to say most others would've just offed them.

even if somone made him question that moral, its far more likely that whoever made him question it, will make him think otherwise agian.

Doubt that they would find many common things between them... Connie never showed any significant interest in engineering or science, and I hardly could imagine that Peridot would be really interested in music, or fantasy fiction, or swordfighting.

But... it may be the interesting episode exactly about two different personalities find something in common, something that they never expected before.

All this build-up to some epic beast, and all we get is a big sphere with a few rocks sticking out. Still a good episode, but I was thinking we were going to have some epic battle that spans a few episodes. Eh well.

    • Well as for Jasper, it's been confirmed word of god that there's far more to her character than we've been led to believe, so what happens next will probably depend on the circumstances of her reinstroduction (most likely after Lapis has finished being assimilated into the group) If, for example she's trapped in a crevice, unable to move, but not under enough stress to destabalise or be shattered then Steven might sense her in a dream and be unable to NOT go and help her. If the two get trapped together as a result it'd be interesting. But like I said, it depends entirely on how the writers handle it.  Steven made friends with and pacified a Gem superweapon, I really wouldn't put the angry cheeto lady past him. We'ce seen far worse characters be redeemed in television. I think the point of it is, Jasper's just another member of the slave classes under the real big bads, the Diamonds, who, let's face it, are the only one's in their entire society with real freedom to do what they want or choose.

That's part of the reason why I felt it was just a decent episode, it's not terrible, but yes it was anticlimactic in my opinion.

It'll definitely be interesting if it's because they are just trapped together, maybe Jasper will feel ashamed because now she has no chance of returning and is now considered a failure, and maybe Steven will help her, I would love to see an awkward scene where she's gently hugs Steven and everyone looks in shock. And Jasper feeling uncomfortable as well.

Paradoxically, I think the whole point of it was that it WASN'T going to end up forming into horrible Eldrich creature and that after all that build-up, after all those episodes, Steven won the way only Steven could, just by talking to it. I think the Alexandrite/Malachite fight though was basically to make up for that in terms of giving the viewer some action to chew on. Keep in mind we've only just STARTED Season 3, and a full on battle against some incomprehensibly large enemy is hard to follow and to escelate from for several more seasons.

      I figured that.

Still, throughout the series we're told that The Cluster is some huge beast, capable of destroying everything we know. They could have at least made it look more... threatening.

It's really informative and kinda forces you to look into stuff, for instance until I saw them I never heard of Lapis lazuli or Peridot let alone Peridotite. And they do it in a fun way like with this episode where Peridot was gushing over the superheated peridotite

In all fairness, that was just it's core. That's like saying they needed to make Jasper more threatening because the yellow triangle that is her nose isn't jagged enough. I actually liked how the Cluster looked like a giant geode. The screaming faces and clawing hands were the start of it's form. I did love how it started to form a kind of network though betwen it's shards inside the Cluster's 'brain' dreamscape (like the forming of new synapses in a human brain), implying Steven had started it on the path of becoming a sort of single brain in and of itself; a new Gem that used to be just the remnants of many. It was a wonderful happy ending to Homeworld's treatment of the fallen Crystal Gems. Almost like a rebirth.

I know. Assming he can 'purify' any gem down there, then that's a lot of Crystal Gems to add to their numbers. However, we all have to realise, that the more characters we get, the less focus we get on any individual. As it stands we're at 6, with Lapis and Peridot included.  Let's say we add Jasper and Cenipeedle (maybe a Jade?) too. 8 main characters is a lot to spread episode focus on. What I'd hate is them adding too many characters and so we lose focus on the current cast. As it stands I doubt we'll be getting many Beach City focused eps in future. I dunno, maybe I'm just worried this might start falling in to the same trap as adventure time, which seeme to also have that problem (we get a few eps focus on new characters and they're forgotten) If we're still building the cast, then great, just don't go OTT. I'd frankly love Centipeedle and Jasper as main characters, but let's keep it there..

    • I wouldn't worry too much, as we saw this power seems to cause Steven some level of stress especially if he's working with too many minds at once so they need to take it nice and slow. He might heal one or two, get some episodes on them, then repeat which might give us two seasons or the current gem monsters will be developed in flashbacks first then healed

I suppose that works. Heck, for all we know Jasper might not run into the CG's and we'll get an arc of her being discovered and being secretly delt with by a random member of Beach City (lol any ideas who might work I'd leave up to you). • This episode is awesome! Steven and Peridot drilled into the Earth together! Also, Peridot likes elevator music! That part was funny! And Steven talking the Cluster was nice! It was nice to see him use his powers to talk to gems. Also, the Cluster bubbled itself, with Steven's help! That was awesome! Also, when they got done, the Crystal Gems wrapped in, with Garnet holding Lapis, who's still in a coma. Pearl is suprised to hear that Steven bubbled the Cluster and that Steven and Peridot saved the Earth and Steven asks if Lapis will be okay and Garnet said she'll be fine.

Also, I'm surprised to see that the Crystal Gems actually care about Lapis.

      Gem Drill 205

      Gem Drill 207

      Gem Drill 212

I know this might sound harsh, but, I thought that they would just leave her on the Mask Island with the Watermelon Stevens (the Crystal Gems need Steven's convincing to take in a Homeworld gem or a non-Crystal gem for that matter), because of how she was like to them in her debut, Mirror Gem and Ocean Gem. I guess Steven changed them, the Crystal Gems care about Lapis and brought her back to the barn and they didn't need Steven's convicing to bring her back either that or their view on Lapis changed after The Message and they realize she's not really that bad.

It's nice to see that the Crystal Gems care about Lapis, it makes me wonder if we're gonna see them helping and caring about other gems in the future.

I hope Lapis gets redeemed and joins the Crystal Gems soon!

Believably redeeming Jasper without having her suddenly be OOC will be a real challenge for the writers and (assuming they actually go down that route) possibly one of the most fascinating arcs thus far.

I was hoping it would be the first thing he couldn't save, please don't do this with every villain, give us a villain he will have to kill, no matter how much he doesn't want to, and don't pull a deus ex machina like in the last airbender. Actually, from when she stopped trying to kill them to when she was officially redeemed I think Pearl said it was about two and a bit weeks, wasn't it? (when Steven commented on how it just felt like yesterday) But Jasper would either be a much longer term project, or a much shorter, more intense one. As for someone he wont be able to redeem and be forced to kill? I'm guessing that's what the Diamonds will be for because they're more than happy being effective Gods of a whole slave race manufactured to service their every whim. Every Gem up until them will probably be open for the Heel Face Turn.

Actually, while the Diamonds'll definitely be the irredeemable ones, most of my money's on Jasper being the one they can't save. Not only does she hate the Crystal Gems with a burning passion, she acted like a complete...how do I put this nicely....jackass to pretty much EVERYONE, she's a total hypocrite (highlighted in the Season 1 finale); oh, and to top it off, she has a grudge against Rose Quartz.

Yeah, call me crazy, but I don't think Jasper'll be redeemed at any point. At least with Lapis and Peridot, one could argue that they weren't evil, just misguided loyalists that didn't know any better. But hey, this is the same show that convinced me that Ronaldo's ramblings were actually true, so I suppose anything is possible. Just don't expect me to be on the Jasper bandwagon anytime soon.

Well I'm probably on the other camp since I've seen far worse characters in far less optimistic shows than this get turned to good, so I'm pretty optimistic in Jasper's case. Depends on how the writers handle it.

Well, don't forget that we don't know for certain how long Steven and Peridot were actually in the Earth. Peridot says that it takes 2 hours to reach the Cluster via drill, meaning that roughly four hours minimum had passed between going in and out of the core. One could argue that perhaps there was a warp pad just a few hours away on a nearby island. We don't know just how many Warp Pads were still active on Earth in between pads so that is possible. A long shot? Maybe, but it makes the most sense in this instance.

Likely the melons had a boat since they have houses etc. They sailed to the nearest island with a pad and warped. That or Amethyst just did her helicopter trick again, or changed into a motor for a boat. Even simpler: They ran across the surface of the ocean since they don't need to breathe. Or the three of them just morphed into birds/fish. There are a billion different answers so this doesnt even come remotely close to being a plot hole

Well for starters... the drill wasnt even piercing the cluster and hardly made a dent, what makes you think peridot summoning a weapon would do?

      Killing a villain?

I wouldnt ever expect such a thing from steven, the other gems?  probably, but steven? not at all. He is hates the act of death, i mean take a look at when jasper fell, he was still a little shocked, even at her. I like that this show has a pacifist vibe.

At the very most, a villain should do a "i would rather die than join you!" thing and suicide in this show.

Steven should learn how to kill. How will he handle it when his father dies?

He'll handle it like any other person, he doesn't need to learn how to kill in order to know how to handle death.

I respect Steven for many reasons, especially his commitment not to kill. But When the final battle comes, and it will come, the diamonds need to be stopped, from what we've seen so far they're monsters, and monster like them they need to be destroyed. Steven may not know how to kill, but he might just have to get in the habit.

I don't think that'll ever happen. 3 Seasons and 0 actual deaths so far. The threat of death is one thing (which this show has a lot of) but Steven will likely never kill another gem by intention. At worst it'll be the cliffedge 'take my hand!' scenario where the villain tries to drag the hero down or fall willingly.  The whole point of poofing a gem is so you can attack them with massive force without worrying about killing them. It probably takes serious focus to poof AND shatter a gem, to the point that it makes me wonder how many were actually killed with intent in the war. Seems more of an execution thing to me. Even the diamonds might just be bubbled. But if they do die, it'll be an indirect kill (ship/planet/base/macguffin weapon exploding). I'm personally glad a lot of the tired shounen anime tropes are avoided in this series (to the point they even parodied the idea of Steven 'getting dangerous' in Full Disclosure)

Or just deliver justice the normal way, and poof and bubble them too, i mean its not like gems can pop their own bubbles.Think of it has life in prison without parole.

I also have a feeling if steven does end up killing somone one of two things will happen:

1.he will exile himself for "having blood on his hands"

      2. he will go crazy and say "did...did i just kill someone!?" and may or may not go on a killing spree and turn psycho.

About being whole, how would that even work? How would they fix themselves even if they did find their other parts? It took some healing magic to fix lapis cracked gem never mind a gem thats been shattered into dozens of shards

I don't think they knew or to an extent cared about that part of the plan. As Steven himself said it best, "You guys have the one-trackiest minds I've ever met."

    • I am sure Peridot has never been told "I love you" by anyone back on Homeworld, I think no Homeworld gem has ever been told "I love you", except for perhaps the Diamonds but that is more out of fear and worship.
