  • That episode was very surprise one because of that revelation about Bismuth.

After Steven poofed Bismuth and CGs put her in their Burning Room and I ask myself "Will Bismuth return?"

I would say probably no because her actress, Uzo Aduba have a Netflix show called Orange is New Black and it's hard to get her to voice Bismuth after Bismuth episode because she is a busy actress

Look at Opal and Sugilite, the reason of why they're rarely talk after their debut episode because their voice actress, Aimee Mann and Nicki Minaj are very busy people!

Now we will not going to see her return for while but i would be surprised if she returns.

Do you guys think Bismuth might return or not?

    • I hope she does.

    • all we can do is hope and wish for it to happen

    • Well... she will return at least for one more episode for sure.

Maybe after the war is over, but the whole point of Bismuth is that there is unfinished business between Bismuth, the Cristal Gems and Homeworld so the show can't end with Bizmuth still in the bubble. Maybe she won't talk in the next episode she's in, but at least she will appeared at least one more time to close up her story arc.

Personnaly I think she will appear more than that because we need to have an episode about Lapis and her also (Bizmuth are supposed to be builder so... the only Bizmuth who would have fight Lapis would be a Crystal Gems since there are the only gems who doesn't do always that there are made for... So there is a huge chance Bizmuth is the one who poofed Lapis) but I don't know when we will see her again.

    • I feel really sorry for Bismuth- she'd just reunited with her friends, and suddenly she's been poofed and bubbled again. I don't think Steven would just leave her like that, I think he'd probably try to help her... I want her to have another chance, and realise that she doesn't NEED to destroy a gem to help the Crystal Gems. Maybe Peridot could help with this realisation that gems can change?

    • If Bismuth doesn't return by the end of the show I'm gonna be sooooooooooo mad.

    • OH MY GOD! Just realised something!!! Peridot can control metals now, right? And Bismuth is a blacksmith! They're just MEANT to work together, and with Peridot's knowledge of technology... omagad this just NEEDS to be an episode!

    • I hope she does and she would learn from Steven that if she gives mercy to her enemies, maybe your enemies could spare you too and be friends. And I expect that in the sooner episodes, Bismuth should meet Lapis and Peridot! And sooner.. Jasper.

    • Bismuth would kick Jasper's butt all the way back to Homeworld!

      ......or shatter her.

    • ... didn't someone say Jasper's meant to get corrupted? I dunno if that's true though. Still, I hope both of them are back in bismuth soon. 😉

    • Yeah, let Bismuth and Lapis meet.

    • Lapis is stronger than she was back then- I don't think it would end well for either of them...

    • Who knows? maybe Bismuth will come back.

    • I hope so. Why give her a two part episode if she wouldn't reappear though? I feel like they're setting up her character for something big...

    • I can see Bismuth coming back for the Grand Finale, the final assault against the Diamonds. The Crystal Gems need their army back if they're going to stand a chance against Homeworlds...

    • What about if Rose comes back? Is that possible? What would alexandrite look like fused with her? Not really relevant to the post, but it'd be cool!

    • There are still a lot of unanswered questions about Bismuth like for example....

      Who is Nephrite?

Who are Crazy Lace, Biggs/Bix and Snowflake?

Would Bismuth be forced by Jasper to join her Gem army because she didn't really follow along with Rose?

How will Lapis and Peridot react to her? (I see their first meeting as Bismuth thinking Peridot is a Homeworld spy and Lapis remembers her as the Gem that poofed her in the war, and then they try to kill each other.)

Plus I think Bismuth could live at the barn and make appearences here and there, like Peridot and Lapis.

Bismuth was against two things, Homeworld and Rose/Steven.  She wasn't against the Crystal Gems, just Rose Quartz.  I don't think that's enough for them to work together.

Nephrite was presumably a Homeworld pilot. As Gems are made for specific tasks, this suggests that nephrites are typically pilots or ship crew by definition; therefore, it's possible that Centipeetle (whp was a ship captain) may be a nephrite (although I'm leaning towards her being either a chrysoprase—and therefore a variant quartz—or an emerald).

Crazylace (a form of agate) and Biggs (a form of jasper) would have both been quartz warriors. If they're not shattered, they're likely corrupted (and may be the snow gem beasts, who both read as corrupted quartzes and could, based on their markings and stones, be interpreted as a crazy-lace agate and a Biggs jasper).

I'd guess that Snowflake was a snowflake obsidian.  She's unaccounted for and likely presumed dead.

      She wouldn't stand for it.

How will Lapis and Peridot react to her? (I see their first meeting as Bismuth thinking Peridot is a Homeworld spy and Lapis remembers her as the Gem that poofed her in the war, and then they try to kill each other.)

Those relationships would definitely be strained at first. I don't think Bismuth is the same bismuth who'd previously discorporated Lapis, but it's possible that Lapis would have a phobia concerning bismuths and aggressive bismuths in particular. As for Peridot, she only recently defected from Homeworld, was presumably created for the war effort, and still has some biases of her own.

Plus I think Bismuth could live at the barn and make appearences here and there, like Peridot and Lapis.

Presuming she comes back. Which I hope she does; it's kinda annoying that they introduced an awesome new character with some issues, only to have her go all well-intentioned extremist and end up back in a bubble. (Seriously, she doesn't so much need a redemption arc as some cooldown time and grief counseling.)

    • well basically now bismuth think steven is better than his mother, hinting that she doesn't hate him less than rose & with jasper rounding up corrupted gems to form an army to take down the crystal gems, so there's a strong chance, hinting bismuth might reformed, but we can only hope

    • I still like the idea of Peridot and Bismuth working together to make new weapons or technology for the Crystal Gems. Peridot would probably like Bismuth, as she seems to be perfectly formed, and may be the only member of the Crystal Gems Peridot has met that isn't 'defective' in her opinion.

Peridot—although she's certainly improved significantly—still has some ideas concerning sticking to one's assigned role.  (Note that Pearl isn't runty, doesn't stay fused with her cross-stratum girlfriend 24/7, and isn't some weird vulnerable organic experiment; Peridot still called her "defective" for being...for want of a better word, uppity.)  I can see her saying something thoughtless about how someone let the mason be an armorer, and Bismuth (who's also got ideas about sticking to one's assigned role, most of them being "the heck with that" at the most polite) getting touchy in response.

Don't get me wrong; I'm sure they'd work past the friction.  But there'd be friction at first nonetheless.

    • True enough. Be cool to see them work together though...

Also... anyone else find it suspicious how TWO gems that knew Rose but not Steven think he IS Rose? Coincidence?

Not really.  It would the first thing any Gem would think.  They don't have parants or children nor understand the concept.  Anyother Gem would be called the name of the gem they have and since Steven has the gem of Rose Quartz thats what poeple call and think he is.

    • True enough I suppose. Kinda wonder what the diamonds would think now... but that's off topic to this discussion.

    • If the problem is her voice actor, WHY DON'T THEY JUST GET A NEW ONE?! T-T

        Loading editor
    • It's probably guaranteed she comes back. If there are problems with the voice actor, maybe the next regeneration would change it a bit. Maybe. It's a possibility.

I'm going to miss that voice actor, though. They made Bismuth a very fun character to watch, even in scenes where she fights Steven. "It's too late. I don't believe you anymore!" was said so perfectly for example.

    • The Breaking Point was a pretty nasty weapon. After re-watching a bunch of episodes I realised that the breaking point would turn a gem into dust, forcing them to painfully exist as mere particles forever. No wonder Rose bubbled her... it would be the gem equivalent of a nuke! And if Homeworld copied the tech... yeah, I'm positive Rose was justified in poofing her now.
