rose shattering Pink Diamond
Could that explain bismuths personality
and when rose did this she knows not to shatter any gem
It's so stupid of me but when Eyeball said she saw it with her own eye, pointing so seriously at her single eye... I couldn't help but think of Seamus from Family Guy, "Sure I'm blind in one eye, and my other eye was infected that day from picking at it, and I was tired, and I'd been swimming in a pool with too much chlorine, and that was the hour my glasses were at Lenscrafters but I seen that fish!"
Seriously though, until flashbacks are seen, I shall remain skeptical as to how a Quartz, even Rose, could shatter a Diamond.
Diamonds are not as durable as everyone here seems to think they are. Yes they are very hard but they are also brittle and have naturally occuring fault lines within them. Very hard to scratch one, but not that hard to shatter one. Just like a jeweler would know the right places to strike a diamond to cause it to fracture in the desired way, is it that hard to imagine that a gem medic of Rose's abilities would know the right place to strike?
Within the context of the show, remember back to Garnet's flashback in "The Answer". When Rose and Pearl show up what did Blue Diamond do? Her throne thing sealed itself up, deployed legs and got out of there. If diamonds are tough as as every assumes they are, why would Blue Diamond flee from a single rose quartz and a pearl?
True, Oldasdirt, but a Diamond is never alone, unguarded. At least I sincerely doubt it. If Rose was unique, either, the only/one of a few Rose Quartz or the only one capable of healing (indicated by Eyeball Ruby's immediately connecting Steven's healing abilities with THE Rose Quartz due to rumors that's how she sustained her small army) it makes sense how Rose could gain an audience with Pink Diamond. Just like Sapphire with Blue Diamond.
I'm not arguing Rose shattered Pink Diamond, that's been confirmed, I just think she couldn't have done it alone (likely Pearl). Oh and an aside, to Blue Diamond fleeing at the first sign of battle, I just don't see a Diamond fighting, they seem to like hiding behind their armies. Maybe that's due to Rose and Pink Diamond, yes, but what we've seen so far of their nature seems like they'd consider it beneath them.
Oh yes, the leaders generally are away from from the fighting, sometimes out of cowardice and sometimes out of it being tactically smart. I was mainly responding to the idea that the Diamonds are these unstoppable juggernauts when in reality we have not seen them actually do anything. If in reality Rose was incapable of harming a diamond as many were suggesting at the time, then she had no reason the flee the scene.
If I remember from science, only a diamond can scratch a diamond so Rose must be supper strong or the ultimate Quartz. I've never heard of her being poofed by another gem either.
now i'm assuming everyone here has seen bubbled but if not then you should stop reading this,
if you have however you should still stop because this discussion is now pointless.
Rose. Shattered. Pink. Bubbled has confirmed this, the manner in which she did, the weapon she used, the mechanics of shattering a diamond do not matter. all that matters now is what this means for Steven. this is a formative moment for him and knowing how far his mother went and was willing to go to protect earth can and will affect the lengths to which he will go next season, when the homeworld situation evolves even further.
Good Point, but this a now a turning point in the show. I think
